Former AC Milan Manager Sacchi says there are too many blacks playing for Italy

Former coaching great Arrigo Sacchi tried to clarify his remarks Monday after stating he thought there were too many black players in Italy's national team pipeline.
"I'm certainly not racist and my history as a coach proves that, starting from [Frank] Rijkaard" Sacchi had said at an awards ceremony, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"But looking at the Viareggio tournament I feel like saying that there are too many black players, even in the youth teams.
"Italy has no dignity, no pride. It's not possible that our teams should have 15 foreign players in the squad."

Europeans are so racially tolerant. Americans should aim to be more like them.

Good for him.
America should take note.
*This has nothing to do with black people.

Why wouldn't he just say foreign rather than black

Thats what I was thinking... I don't know about Italy, but he would get crucified if he said that here.. It's all about context, but it just reads bad..

I think he realized that mistake and tried to clarify it with the foreign comment that followed.

You are an absolute dumbass. Take a good look at the last names of all USMNT players in the past 25 years. That is the ultimate melting pot and none like it in the world. USMNT has done nothing but improve slowly on the world stage. Who are you to say they are American or not? Foreigners????? Like it is a stigma. My grandparents fled Germany after WW1. Somehow I must not be American enough to play for the USMNT according to your dumbass logic.

Randy would fit right in with the xenophobs in Eastern Europe

Obviously this guy is an idiot whether it was taken out of context or not, what he said was dumb AF.
However, i do think it's really dumb that players can play for other national team's other than the the one that they were born in or the one that their parents are citizens of, in case some kid gets born out of the country their parents live in randomly.
The ability to flip flop based on parents visas or whatever country someone's grandparent is from is something that's always irked me.

Italy is probably one of the most racist footballing countries in the world. The only one I can think of that's worse is Russia.

I mean, I don't really feel strongly about it... but, I agree that all the various qualifications for eligibility are silly... For the most part, they are taken advantage of by players who dont have a much of a chance making their "home" country squads or that "home" country isn't a traditional power... Not some allegiance to a country they have never lived in... I know that isn't always the case.
Like I said, it is what it is... that train has left the station and I don't have a problem with the USA doing it..

In that case, Balo grew up Italian... so it makes sense. That says, he does support the Ghanian national team, which makes sense too...
