Anybody ever fish them wacky rig style?

I haven't but after doing some research I have been thinking about adding it to the arsenal

Yes. I have caught some very nice fish with the wacky rig. Great presentation when the lock jaw sets in also.
I caught a damn nice catfish on a wacky rig senko last year

You rig it with a j hook, weedless? Seen it where the baits zip tied in the middle and the hook sits in it so you don't pull off the bait.

1/0 with weed guard
O-ring around senko, hook between o-ring and bait.
You can also get some sleeve/collar style o-rings to run the hook through the bait and collar. That looks like the sturdiest option IMO.
ETA: This is the catfish I caught. You can see the O-ring around the senko.
I casted down the middle of a cove and that fish smashed it as soon as it hit the water. I thought I had a double digit bass on the line. This was on Grand Bayou.

It went straight back into the water.
Felt like a monster bass.
I have now caught bass, bream and catfish on the almighty senko.

As mentioned, use an o-ring. You'll save a bunch of baits this way. I like a 2/0 gamagatsu wacky hook, that has a small weed guard (same material as a jig weed guard).

i've caught dozens using this method, but all of them were up north.

If you aren't fishing a senko wacky then you are missing out. Even in the grass it will out produce just about every time when someone else is throwing a Texas style

I tried the senkos wacky style 5 years ago at priest lake in Tennessee, and I did not catch anything

" I thought I had a double digit bass on the line."
Why would catching a 1lb. Catfish make you think you had a 10lb. bass ?????

The way it damn near ripped the rod out of my hand when it struck. Catfish fought like hell all the way to the boat.
Aside from the catfish, moral of the story is that wacky rig senko will catch fish, period.
