Say you interview for a job, but you find out the salary is just too low or insulting. Ever just up and leave? Do you feel bad or awkward about it?

No
I would never burn a bridge like that

Be careful of the toes you step on today, they may be connected to the arse you have to kiss tomorrow

would be an incredibly douchey thing to do for something that would mostly be your fault for not researching the position beforehand

I have been in an interview and decided this job is not for me, but I finished the way interview.

I would never do that. If they made an offer that was what I considered to be "insultingly low", I'd simply counter if I was interested in the position and if they didn't meet my requirement I'd turn them down.

No way, 1st: I'd never burn a bridge like that. 2nd: I'd never disrespect someone like that. That's just immature to do. It's easy enough to just say upfront that the two of you disagree and shake hands and thank them for their time.

Absolutely not, you sit through it be polite and do all the right things.. even if they call you a racial epithet.

I pretty much did; although it wasn't really just stand up and walk out the room. I interviewed for a company in Houston and during the interview learned that there was much more travel involved than they had originally lead me to believe. One of the guys in the interview tried to change the subject over to benefits; I simply pushed the benefit information to the side and asked another question related to the travel requirements.
The guy got pretty heated that I just ignored the benefits information, and I had enough and told them I had no more questions about the job. They politely asked a few follow-up questions and we wrapped up the interview.

Did you ever take my advice on your relationship?
Posted on 2/12/15 at 8:42 am to dualed
Had one recently and about half through I just decided in my head "nope". But I stayed and finished because I'm not a lunatic.
I'm trying to figure out what you're saying. Are you suggesting that you were insulted by an offer and stormed out indignantly or you just politely interrupted them with a "well I won't waste anymore of your time" and walked out. Either way, you're fricking weird and dumb.

No, but I did have an initial lunch meeting that would have lead to an interview in which the guy failed to show up, and failed to call or e-mail to tell me he would not be able to make it. After about 30 minutes, I left the restaurant. He called later that day to reschedule - I told him no thanks.

When I first graduated college one of the first interviews I had was for a company I had never heard of and the position title was "account manager".
I wasn't really sure what the job was for but I went on the interview anyway. It wasn't 'til someone took me out in their car that I realized it was doing door to door sales.
I told them with all due respect, the job just wasn't for me and I did not want to waste any more of their time.

I haven't just up and left one, but once when the "so does this sound like something you'd be interested in" question came up, I told the guy I appreciated his time, but it wasn't what I was looking for and we broke off the interview at that point.
I was also in between jobs once and took a "warehouse supervisor" job. Although it didn't come to light during the interview process, the only person I was supervising was myself, and I was packing and unpacking boxes all day. After I finished the third day, I went in and told the guy who hired me it wasn't working out and wasn't something I was interested in doing. I told him don't worry about paying me for the three days of work, that I considered it a valuable learning experience. I started the graduate school application process the next day.

it's perfectly acceptable to let them know early on in the process that you guys are not a fit. No need to be an arse about it though. be a pro

Never walked out of an interview but I HAVE completely shut down during one when I realized I didn't want the job. I also got suckered into this group interview once for some insurance company in New Orleans and there was a lil hottie in the group that got my attention. We chatted each other up after and I asked her out for a drink. Left the interview and followed her to her apartment so "she could change" and we fricked. She gave me her number afterwards and I left. Never even made it to the bar. Lol

No but I completely checked out of one once I realized I didn't want to work there and it was obvious the woman giving the interview googled "Good Interview Questions" to conduct the interview.

yes. When I was in college I had an interview to work with Best Buy part time.
This fricking manager goes into a Glengary Glen Ross tirade to me about how he wants "frickING CLOSERS". I"m just thinking, "Damn, son. It's just best buy."
Anyway, he gives me a dollar and tells me he gave one of his associates in the store the other dollar. My job was to go around and ask all the associates and "convince" them to give me a dollar to prove I could "frickING CLOSE."
Yeah...I left.

In college, I answered an add for a sales job. Turned out to be a mass interview for selling something. About 5 minutes into the speech that was being given to myself and 10-15 other people, I stopped the speaker and asked what were we going to be selling. He said that we would cover that later, so I got up and walked out. Never found out what it was, but I think it was knives or something along those lines.
