Hopefully this thread can be useful for workout/health enthusiasts to post their diet/exercise regimen/goals and get some good discussion going and helpful tips. Also be nice to see what others do.

My diet-

breakfast- Quest bar

Lunch - 8 oz grilled chicken, 1/2 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup cauliflower, 1 avocado

Dinner (preworkout)- 8 oz grilled 90/10 ground beef, use some ketchup to dip, sometimes a slice of cheese. 1 sweet potato w/ cinnamon. Add butter every once in a while.

Post workout- Recovery shake- 12 oz skim milk, scoop whey protein, banana, spoonful of almond butter, creatine.

All of the above gets me to roughly 2000 calories in a day. If I'm hungry later, I will eat a snack of almonds, or some other nuts. I try to eat 2400 calories a day or less. Sundays to stay sane I don't diet at all but stick to it pretty strict the rest of the week.

I got up to 215 due to holidays/injury/lack of effort in diet and gym for the past few months. I want to get back down to 190ish again and keep as much muscle as possible. I'm down to 206 after 2 weeks but know that is mostly water weight. Training regimen is 5x a week of crossfit. Not typical crossfit, I follow Outlaw programming. Basically, it is alot more lifting, specifically olympic lifting, and focuses more on certain skills than what most people think of crossfit.

Any diet advice appreciated and post your regimens too. Hopefully we can all see some good stuff and help each other a bit where needed.

I don't follow a diet per say.

I eat lean meats, veggies, fruit and chocolate. I do not eat any carbs late, workout 4 days a week, and plan to do a half marathon this summer.

Curious as to why you say that, specifically regarding Outlaw?

I did read your link and I would say I follow that to diet to a certain degree. I do need to cheat better as that link suggests and I think they show a good way to go about to.

You're a girl though. 2400 calories a day for an active male is kind of low.

I agree it is sort of low, but I am trying to lose weight. I think that's a good goal to lose 1-2 pounds a week for a 210 pound male.

why because outlaw is an extremely demanding program(an awesome one but demanding) especially on the two a day workouts. So you don't need to do anything extreme. Just a basic simple diet that sets the caloric level about 250 to 500 below maintenance will do wonders if your protein intake is high enough to maintain muscle mass.

You don't need anything extreme if you are working out hard. just KISS.

breakfast- Quest bar

I prefer to do egg whites, slice of turkey bacon, and a nice helping of kale on a low carb tortilla in the morning, then a shake a few hours later in the AM

just something about eating a highly processed bar (I know what they claim) every morning would bother me. But if time is an issue in the morning its not a bad option.

I wouldn't do quest bar either. Majority of your calories should be coming in this meal. I'm strapped for time as well but make a shake every morning. Something like
1-2 scoops whey
4 egg whites
2 cups milk
banana
half cup of oats
1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter

you can alter this recipe slightly to end up anywhere from 500-1100 calories depending on your goals

2,400-2,500 is the sweet spot for you, don't go too low

you need energy for your crossfit. if you go too low vs your activity level, your metabolism will have the reverse effect

to the girl eating 1,200 calories, that is too low.

any healthy person should be over 1,500.

see below, came out yesterday and a quick read

Do you do Outlaw? I haven't been doing the two a day workouts. I'm strapped for time and hate going to the gym twice a day. On the midweek 2x a day, I usually do session 1 and rest 30-45 minutes and then do session 2. During the Sunday workout, I usually cut out the Amrap in session 1, and cut out the clean pulls in session two (because I struggle with those already/specifically in form), and just do all the rest-making it one long session.

Thoughts/reasons why I should avoid this? I'm not interested in competing again yet. Just want to get back in shape so I think that's the best route for me to go, as I absolutely hate doing a morning and night session in a single day.

Breakfast - Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Lunch - 3 slices of pizza with a soft drink
Dinner - Take out, mostly Canes

But I get a diet coke, so it's all good.

I would much prefer to do that also, but as you mentioned- it is more of a time issue for me. I am not a morning person, and wake up just in time to be ready for work and grab a quest bar as I hit the door. It works best for me, I wouldn't reccomend it either but I prefer that than waking up even 30 minutes earlier and making a good breakfast.
