I love that LSU continues to compile great recruiting classes. However, the fact that we're not bringing in a big time QB prospect or Juco that could compete immediately is concerning. We continue to stack studs in the secondary and at the RB position, but we neglect to recruit our Achilles heel? God forbid we have a major injury or off the field issue that would take away 1 of our only 2 valid options at QB. Haven't we seen this same issue play out for the last 6 years? How long will the QB feel like an afterthought when it comes to recruiting? I know that Harris and Jennings were sought after recruits, but this needs to happen every year, not every 3 years. This very issue could be the demise of les miles.

Do you think LSU isn't recruiting big time quarterbacks? It's not as easy as picking out the guy you want and having him enroll.

Harris was a highly rated guy and LSU leads for Shea Patterson, and has a commitment from Franks. Do a little research pal

Yes they were.

So was Rettig. We also had Mett for 2 years before that who was very sought after. Jarrett Lee was an Elite 11 QB. Hell, even Jordan Jefferson was a 4* guy.

Before that we had Ryan Perrilloux, the #1 QB in the country. Before that we had 4* Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell.

We have Feleipe Franks committed who is very sought after and Shea Patterson in state who we are putting a full court press on for.

So in summary, you have no idea what you're talking about. We recruit highly regarded high school QBs, but have just done a poor job developing them or keeping them on campus.

Before posting, consider how knowledgable (or ignorant) you are of the topic. We signed Brandon Harris last year. And we're in position to sign two of the top five QBs in the country in 2016 (one is already committed, and we're the leader for the other).

QB recruiting is anything but "an afterthought." Stop being an idiot.

I would normally say that this is recruiting board material, but don't bring this garbage over there. This is definitely Rant material

Mett came to BR when he could have gone elsewhere and the Harris signing was fairly significant at the time. Lets see if Les' proclamation that we have to throw the ball more in 2015 means anything. There is no reason why LSU shouldn't appeal to QB's. Rivers, Bolden, Rettig all came here believeing it was the place to be for them.

Big time QB's? Every QB we have ever put on the field was a 4 or 5 star. Research before you rant... You will eat those words in 15.

You can't just force a position.

And you cant just give up on a big time prospect after a true freshman year lol.. Especially at the qb position.

Even big time juco transfer Mettenberger did not play over JJ his first year.. And his 2nd season wasn't all that inpressive outside of a big game or two.. It took even him to be a senior on the team for 3 years to finally turn it on.

Recruiting talented physical athletes with limited intelligence is not a winning strategy at the QB position.

These shows just how huge your lack of knowledge really is. So please keep your senseless opinions to yourself.

PS... the reason we aren't signing qb's this year is that the next manning/luck is in next year's class and we are in the lead for him.I bet you couldn't name his name yet somehow you think your opinion is sound. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahagahahahahahahaa

Here's the deal. Miles is a great recruiter. From kickers in Australia to deep snappers from Ga. He rarely misses on getting the very best talent for his teams.
But QB is the one spot that he is struggling with.

Lets see why can this be.

Louisiana rarely develops a SEC caliber QB anymore.
Miles wants to control the game by running the ball and playing great defense.

4 and 5 * OOS QB's are not lining up to leave state and not be the focal point of the offense, anywhere. They can hand off for the state school.

It seems we have 3 choices.

Develop some dang QB's in this state. Heck we only need 1 every 2 years....!!!!!!!

Change offenses

Stay the course.....
