I can remember the smell of the place. Reminds me of stuff I couldn't afford at the time.

It was the sort of fun big old labyrinthine type store you don't see anymore in today's cookie-cutter big box world. The old downtown Steinberg's was the same way.

Murphy's. It was long gone by the time I was at LSU, but from what I hear I should be bummed about it not existing anymore.

you are correct. It was a blast. Saw Better Than Ezra there back in the early 90's. Wednesday night was classic rock night and I think dollar well drinks.

Most importantly smoking hot sorority chicks drunk and slutty.

Also, eating at Louie's across the street at 2:00 am.....Place was always packed. Is it still there?

Loved me some Putt Putt. I also missed Mr. cook's sausage biscuits. My mom and I would eat those steaming biscuits with a carton of chocolate milk.

$1 movies at the Broadmoor Theater after dinner at Panchos.

When my sister and I were little, our family of 4 could have dinner, a movie, sodas and candy for a total of $20.

Delmont Pastries. I only remember it being in the strip mall on Highland at the South gates of LSU--was it located elsewhere before that?
