We had a father so upset at us nurses on the floor that he threatened to come back with a gun and shoot us all. He was upset cause CPS was called for suspected child abuse. He never showed back up...but we had to have police sit in front of our unit and monitor all visitors for 2 days because of the threat.

I filed an online CPS low priority report in the ER once. Must have been a slow night in Montgomery county. They showed up and took custody of the child. I near shite myself.

When my dad was really sick he was stuck in the "Triumph" long-term care facility next door to Tomball hospital and I wanted to take hostages pretty much every day. They almost killed him with their ineptness.

From what I hear, it involves a father of a child who was removed from life support

Must have. Our CPS has such a horrible reputation of abused/neglected kids slipping through the cracks with them that they renamed it to something else. Everyone still calls it CPS though.

I'm not sure that tombal hospital takes care of kids.
If a kid comes into the ER bad hurt/sick, most outlying hospitals around here are shipping it out

I pray that he has peace and comfort following his loss.

If he hurts an innocent person, I hope they drill his arse into the pavement.

Just heard. That's the hospital my wife is delivering at in three months

It has to be family type deal. No Muslim would be dumb enough to carry a gun out here.

KHOU is reporting that it is a father of one of the patients.

LINK

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that a distraught father of one of the patients has taken at least two hostages at the Tomball Regional Medical Center.

What a terrible story. Prayers to all involved and hope the father doesn't harm innocent people dealing with his loss.

Updated link someone else provided.

quote:

According to officials, the man is inside the hospital room with his son in the critical care unit and is concerned with his son's medical condition.

quote:

The man has not made any threats or demands, said Detective Jimmy Harral of the Tomball Police Deparmtent.

There are no hospital employees hostage, according to Harral.

Very sensitive situation. Prayers for all involved.

Praying for a peaceful resolution...

When the news alert first showed up on my phone, my stomach dropped because I read "hostage situation" and "Houston hospital." I have a nephew recovering from surgery at Texas Children's and was very relieved to find out the incident was in Tomball, not Houston.
