Per Dellanger's twitter, Chief said he is excited to coach on a team with a great offense.

We had a great offense last year. The great chiefs defense was the problem....think Georgia for one.

He got eaten up by Brian Kelly on the last Drive. Everyone could see their QB was throwing in rhythm....but no blitz, nothing to throw him off. Just sit back and let them walk down into FG range.

TAMU does not have LSU talent on Defense. Not sure Chavis will bring the success they expect.

Reading twitter reports and seeing him take shots at our offense

I hope he did, and I hope Miles took note. Bash him all you want, but this QB situation is unacceptable at a program the size of LSU's. There is no excuse.

Well, if Chief can't see a way for the offense to improve, I suppose that he made the right move.

There's no point in hanging around a program that you don't think is headed in a positive direction.

I just hope Miles isn't surrounded by "yes men" who are unwilling to point out the glaring problem with the team.

Great post, especially the last two sentences. But I hope A&M puts together another 8-5 next year. Won't wish him well on that.

Chavis was very effective against certain offenses, e.g. A & M

Perhaps thats why they were so impressed by him.

But against others, his defense imploded (Miss State)

How did LSU not win the national title with all that talent in 2013?" Because the defense was awful.

I completely agree. Chavis' defenses are very over rated. They are predictable and they lack the ability to make key stops when the game is on the line. LSU needs better than what he has produced since 2011.

Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow, that now makes two former OC's

What OCS are you talking about? Stud was never a candidate for the job. It was decent in 2011, but he got butt hurt he got demoted. Gary crowton went to Maryland and turned them to absolute dog shite. Their all acc freshman qb eventually got benched and never played another down.

How many years did he save Les' arse with a great defense though?

I mean, Miles recruits those great defensive players.

It's not like Chief does much schematically, after all. Development is a different story, obviously.

If Chavis gets credit for saving Miles, he should get blasted for quitting on this team and HIS defense getting bitch slapped by Notre dame.
