Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush leads New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination by 10 points among Republicans in the latest CNN-ORC poll.
quote:
Dr. Ben Carson was third with 7 percent, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky each had 6 percent to round out the top five.
quote:
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, preferred by 66 percent of Democratic respondents, would defeat both Bush, 54 percent to 41 percent, and Christie, 56 percent to 39 percent, if the election was held now. In a CNN poll taken a year earlier, Clinton led Bush, 58 percent to 36 percent, and was tied with Christie at 47 percent apiece.
Clinton also would defeat Carson, 56 percent to 35 percent; Huckabee, 59 percent to 38 percent; Paul, 58 percent to 38 percent; Ryan, 56 percent to 41 percent; and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, 60 percent to 35 percent.

Bush could be the smartest man on earth and the best leader and still not get elected, all because of a last name.

I've been saying this for 6 months. I also predicted Obama v McCain and Obama v Romney.... But hey I could be wrong at least once... But doubtful.

Both parties should at least want Rand Paul to get deep into the debates. At a minimum, he'll raise issues other candidates likely won't and broaden the discussion.

Paul will never make it out of the primaries.

Its his biggest hurdle IMO.

That's the way it appears. But the same could have been said about Obama at this time before the '08 election. I see a lot of potential similarities between Obama v. Clinton in '08 and Paul v. Bush in '16.

Possibly but he isn't the smartest person when he's in the company of 1 or more.

Jeb Bush doesn't crack my top ten of desired GOP candidates going into 2016. However, a Clinton/Bush showdown would have me volunteering to work 24/7 for his election.
Hillary " I dodged bullets" Clinton should never be elected anything ever again.

Most probable two years out means not really probable in 2016.
I don't think either will be the nominee. Hillary will never be president.

Go ahead and nominate Jeb. I'll just show up and vote libertarian. Again.

That election is a long way off. I still think Elizabeth Warren has a strong shot at the Democrat nom once the Obama machine kicks into gear on her behalf.
I personally think the Jeb push is a pure media blitz on his part to set a foundation for the next two years that was designed around people being home for the holidays and in front of TVs.
I am still not sure who gets the GOP nom, but I don't think it will be Jeb Bush.

I am sure that Jeb is a nice guy, just like the rest of the family. The problem is that we need someone in office that will hold strong and be willing to fight the dems and establishment to undo (or at least start to) this fricking mess.
The Bush family is too willing to compromise....after all that is what hurt Bush 41.
Bush 43 just laid down during his second term after the dumbocrats took congress, and didn't fight back about the spending. He decided to join in.
I greatly admire the family, but they are not what we need right now.

If so, I hope Gary Johnson runs again.

neither, hillary was the front runner for more than a year before 2008, she faded then and she is less popular now. Obama is the power broker of the democratic party and the GOP base doesn't want a moderate of the ilk of Bush. FWIW I would vote for a moderate like a Giuliani(he's done, I know) or Paul(less moderate than people think), but Bush? Forget about it.
Biden vs. Walker FTW

I just can't understand how people can be so excited about someone that handled the Benghazi situation in such a poor way. Honestly, there are people that have wanted her for years and will only vote for her to see a woman as president.
