I said in 20 years dumbass. Bcs title are subjective now.let alone when we have an actual 8 team playoff with all 5 p5 conf champs. Any title you get VOTED into is subjective.
The bcs is a BOWL system. Lsu plays NCAA fbs football. Show me where any program has won or played in a ncaa national title game.its why you never see ncaa on any bcs shirts. Because ncaa wont put its name on a title you get VOTED into.
Any title that has pre set criteria on making the play offs. Which ncaa basketball and baseball have.
I dont care what the sheep care about. Lsu's 2011 sec title or amy other sec title will never be questioned. After the bcscg the analyst debate on whether or not the two teams deserved to be there. Its never once happened in the sec title game.
quote:
) please forward me all of the letters/emails/whatever you've surely passed on to the Lsu athletic department demanding they immediately cease selling products or displaying items that showcase the 1957, 2003 and 2007 National Chsmpionship years. Because after all, they're nothing but subjective crap.

I think it was a mixture of poor timing for both LSU and RS
RS was/is a decent athlete, but he came to LSU at a time where there was already an infusion of talented skill position players. He did not compare favorably with any of the RBs or WRs we had on roster. That's why CLM could afford to try him out at QB. Too bad he sucked badly apparently.
Coaching staff tried to do right by him by converting him to a skill position but he didn't have the physical makeup to be a RB. He fit best as a WR but he didn't know how to play the position. We already had Randle and Toliver, who took away snaps in his early years, and Beckham was too good to bench as a true freshman so he took them away in his senior year. The team's trajectory during his tenure at LSU was headed towards a national championship caliber season. There were not a lot of snaps available for a WR apprentice. As a result his development suffered.
He still got to the league. He got as much accomplished as he possibly could given the circumstances, and for that he should be proud. He just wasn't good enough and there wasn't enough playing time at LSU for him to make up ground on those that were pure WRs. He should've been developed as a WR during high school.
I don't get the "we should've utlized him more" talk. Who was he better than?

He wasnt that explosive. He ran a 4.37 shuttle and 7.09 3 cone.
The Broad and Vertical are better measures for explosion. Shepard put up good numbers on both jumps. Vertical - 38.5", Broad - 10'2".
I saw a range of 40 times reported from the Pro Day, but the consensus is in the 4.4 range. That's explosive.
I'm guessing that RS didn't practice a lot specifically for the Shuttle and 3-Cone, so he didn't have real good drill-specific form during the Pro Day on those. It's obvious to me that he could clock better times than what he put up. Shep didn't have elite moves, but he had good quickness and change of direction on the field.

Shepard finished the year ranked #9 in the NFL in Total Special Teams Tackles.

4.47 hand timed.
The shuttle and 3 cone measure agility ( shiftiness). Yeah I'm sure he didnt practice to get ready for his pro day. Come on
quote:this is fricking laughable. How often do the broad jump and vertical jump come into play during a football game? How often do players switch directions and have to accelerate again?

What's your point, lame alter? I said, "4.4 range."

Not what I said. I said my guess is that he didn't practice a lot specifically for those drills. Implicit in that statement -- I'm saying my guess is that his main focus was improving in other areas. That's my guess for why he wasn't as good there as he was in other areas.

Try keeping track of what was said and why. You said:

You don't know that you're talking about.
NFL teams use both from the combine to measure explosiveness. It doesn't matter if it is used often in games or not. The coaches believe there is a direct correlation between those quick twitch movements and explosiveness

Tell me smart guy. Where are the other 3 teams in this mythical scenario you're proposing coming from?

Any title you get VOTED into is subjective.
Oh really? I wasn't aware Alabama was voted the bcs national champions in 2011. I thought that didnt happen until after they dominated Lsu in such a manner that was never seen before or sense in the bcs national championship game.

Holy shite, you must be hitting the zimas extra hard today.
Show me one place in my post where I said anything about the NCAA.
After you don't do that, attempt to explain how any of what you posted above is relevant to the part of my post you are drunkenly responding to.

Oh really? What criteria did UCONN fulfill last year to get into the NCAA tournament?

Of course you don't. You're a lightweight pumper. Why would you possibly care about what's really going on in the world?

Then this should be easygoing you to do. Go find an analyst that claimed Alabama didn't deserve to be in the bcs championship game on January 10, 2012.

It's almost sad how stupid you are.
Broad jump and vertical are indicative of explosiveness.
Shuttle and 3-cone are indicative of agility and acceleration.

Is it just me or is this another one of those Les Miles is greater than God post?

He should go let the NFL know that they are waisting their time with those drills
Posted on 12/29/14 at 3:35 pm to RogerTheShrubber
Just what i said. Aside from a wr jumping to catch when else to a vertical jump or broad jump come into play?
A shuttle run and 3 cone drill type running comes into play every single snap

Let the NFL know that they're waisting time
NFL players don't bench press during games either. Make sure to throw that one out as well since it can't possibly be used outside a specific drill

And numerous people have criticized it. All im saying is in no way does a vertical and broad jump determine explosiveness and agility more than 3 cone drill and shuttle. In football games youre asked to acceleraten slow down, turn and accelerate again just like the 3 cone and shuttle.

There aren't too many instances of them running in a straight line for 40 yards with no obstacles either.
The pumpers have now moved on to revolutionizing the nfl combine to defend miles. My post on the first page holds true.

What are you talking about? Miles has nothing to do with it. We talk of the success the football program has had. It doesn't matter the coach.

I think I've finally figured you out. When you're not getting shite faced on mike' shard lemonades, you reek of a guy that that reads things and can only interpret them in the most literal way possible. You have no concept or understanding of context or how things are actually applied in the real world.
I'll bet you work in IT

Its not retarded. There is no such thing as ncaa national title. Deal with it
