If Les does leave this is what Alleva needs to look for

I hate the thought of Alleva heading up a search based on his history of hiring basketball coaches. However, if he has to I propose three characteristics he needs to look for:

1. Won a championship at some level either as an assistant or head coach. I'm not saying Super Bowl or National Title - would be great- but some sort of championship.
2. A reputation as a great recruiter. This is a must. LSU cannot afford to hire a "so-so" recruiter.
3. The ability to bring excitement to an increasingly apathetic fan base. Whether it be by reputation, personality or style of play the fan base desperately needs a shot in the arm. A Mike Riley type - while a great coach - would be a PR disaster.

This "potential" hire would be more important than the Miles hire was. The program just doesn't have the momentum behind it that it did when Miles took over. A misstep could have LSU in the wilderness for a few years.

The prospect of Alleva being tasked with hiring a football coach should terrify any LSU fan.

We would likely end up with someone like Nutt or Tuberville.

No momentum (just lol)

Saban never won anything at MSU and Miles never won anything at OSU.

Chip Kelly has been holding out for the LSU gig.

Multiple Championships.

Wow these are some unique coaching characteristics.

Every school in the country wants a coach with the attributes you described.

1. Make Jimbo say no.

2. Then go to Patterson from TCU Make him say no.

3. Then go to Dan Mullens say no

4. Jim Mora

That is my top 4.

Maybe you should email him and tell him how to do his job.

Sounds like he needs to hire Miles based on your criteria.

Alleva should be fired immediately so he has zero input on who the next football coach at LSU would be.

What Alleva needs to do is put together a small group (no more than 3) LSU people who are trustworthy, and who do have a real understanding of LSU football, our traditions, and LSU's needs - to do the actual searching and interviewing, and maybe even put together a job description (if that is something that is needed?) before anything else happens. Not politicians and not bean-counters.

A guy like that has just gotta be looking for a job, right?

do you really think alleva is going to put on the big boy pants and run this search? I just don't see it. He got bullied by daddy dale and collie temple to hire Jones. He wont be allowed to make this hire, the TAF probably has a firm and is making some back room calls.

Alleva isn't even fit to hire minor coaches

Does anyone really trust Alleva to make a good hire? I don't.
