Heard it on local sports radio they interviewed president of taxslayer bowl today on live radio. LSU was the two teams he mentioned from Sec that he wanted along with auburn.

frick this shite. They either change the name of the bowl, or LSU shouldn't go.
I mean, Taxslayer?, what kind of gross arse shite is the world coming too...

LSU versus Penn State
103 rushes.
1hr 46 min football game.
Shortest in bowl history.

quote:Penn State finished #3 in total defense in 2014 while LSU finished #8. Let's look at the offenses Penn State faced. UCF #103, Akron #87, Rutgers #82, Massachusetts #51, Northwestern #107, Michigan #111, Ohio State #11, Maryland #108, Indiana #61, Temple #117, Illinois #102 and Michigan State #14. Those are where they ranked among 125 FBS teams. Would you expect Penn State to have given up much yardage to those opponents?
Defense is solid, tho.
For comparison, LSU faced the following offenses: Wisconsin #20, Sam Houston N/R(FCS), LA-Monroe #109, Mississippi State #9, New Mexico State #52, Auburn #17, Florida #90, Kentucky #75, Ole Miss #37, Alabama #16, Arkansas #58 and Texas A&M #31.

More time for drinking after a 21-20 victory.

Would welcome that matchup. The Tigers would run the ball down the throats of a typically soft Petrino defense. The Tiger secondary would also shut down his passing attack. Louisville is seriously over-rated. Kentucky should have beaten them.
Louisville's strength this year is their defense in part to the players Strong recruited. Their offense struggled early on with their best QB, RB, and WR on the shelf for the first half of the season. The offense got on track late in the season with the return of all three, but they did suffer a set-back again towards the end of the season when their best QB went down with another injury. Their second string QB was then injured early in the game against Kentucky. Louisville's 3rd string QB played 90% of the game and helped them win vs. the Wildcats. Most teams in the country would lose with their 3rd string taking the majority of the snaps against a good quality opponent. Louisville's team this year is not your typical Petrino team and would give LSU a tough game.

I agree with you
But i think more fans attend the game in Houston, its prime time TV and more recruits can come
those reasons are why i want it in h town

When is the last time all you nega Jacksonville motherfrickers been here. I have been here 23 years and jville has been transformed. Downtown is cleaned up, we got st.john's town center very trendy shopping and restaurants. This city is becoming very trendy and I take offense to all this negatitivity

quote:First of all...you clearly haven't watched much Louisville football all year. Gerrod Holliman would start at Safety for any school in the country (including LSU)...dude is a baller. This defense still very much resembles a Charlie Strong defense. They gave up 40 plus twice this year...to FSU and to Kentucky.
Would welcome that matchup. The Tigers would run the ball down the throats of a typically soft Petrino defense. The Tiger secondary would also shut down his passing attack. Louisville is seriously over-rated. Kentucky should have beaten them.
They are 3rd against the run in the nation. 6th in first down defense (both better than LSU)
Allow 28% conversions on 3rd downs. (3rd overall - better than LSU)
1st in INT's with 25 (more than twice the amount that LSU has - who is not top 50)
29th overall in passing yards given up at 199 YPG...LSU is at 162 and 5th overall - not much difference in yardage honestly.
20th in RZ defense and LSU is 33rd...again not much difference in actual stats though.
LSU given up 16.5 ppg and Louisville at 20.4
Couple that with the fact that they are the 2nd best offense overall in the conference...I think it would be a great game. They also had two very narrow road losses and a late game falling apart against FSU at home to earn their three losses. Total points is 19...LSU lost 41-7, 17-0, 20-13, and 34-29 (lots of garbage points here).
Total point difference here is 63 and one more loss.
