Two weeks ago about I bought 500 shares of BABA at $95.71 and 350 shares of GPRO at $67.91. Today they are trading at $101.67 and $83.02 respectively.

BABA reports their 1st quarterly earnings since its IPO tomorrow.

Last week, GPRO reported earnings of $0.12 vs. expectations of $.08. Holiday sales are predicted to be very good.

Ideas on should I take my earnings and re-buy or hold on to stocks?

If the price is going to go up, don't sell.

How do you think I got the money to make the initial purchase?

Damn, you must think I'm stupid.

Nope, Damn good. But wondering if I should hold on to GPRO for thru the holiday and possibly up to 1st qtr. results.

Also, should I take the profits on BABA now ahead of earnings.

If you're after short term gains, exit at 25-30% (at least that's what I read).

Have you been watching GPROs stock price?

Sorry, I misread your comment. I thought you were directing me along the hookers and blow path and was instructing me to cash out the equity of my home--which I haven't--and play the market.

I'd hold the shite out of the BABA. GPRO makes no sense to me. You're on your own there.

Hey, wtf happened to all of my beautiful money? I blame you.

Honestly, I think it got a pop due to Jim Cramer's enthusiastic endorsement, and a lot of people sold off when they saw the 5% increase. People who are cowards.

Screw the haters. We'll get it back. I'm anticipating a good report today.

Report was out at 6:00 CST and was very good, that was the reason for the pop. Who knows what the sell of was...profit taking? Maybe some footnote in the release? Euro concerns?

Will probably hold Baba thru year-end unless something extraordinary happens. Was concerned about earnings announcement but was pleased with what I read.

Will watch GPro thru the holidays. I think consumers will still look to buy their product/name this season vs. switching to rivals. I think the competition will grow and revenues will eventually take a hit in 2015. I like that they make a tangible and easily understood product and their brand is the common thought of name of that market like Xerox (I know, 20 years ago), Crocs, and Under Armour.

That pop started last night after hours, and began to lose after the report was released. Saw it earlier and it was mostly good but a bit disappointing in the net profit area.

I'm definitely in until after at least the next quarterly report.

Edit - And the pop has returned.

you're correct, I was looking at the jump to 106-7 from 105 after the report was released, and it quickly began to fall from there, but the big jump from 102-105 was before the release yesterday evening.

regardless, I'm staying in for now
