It's the RBBC and CSP's distaste for the running game that makes his stats not as appealing

exactly, and situationally, he gets the shite end of the stick as compared to the other backs

still has a 5.7 YPC and no stat will show how he opens up plays down the field

You can't really judge ingram that way...it's not fair to him.

Stats are the only thing that has this board in heat over Ingram. Dude gets a big game against the leagues worst defense and everybody is jizzing quoting stats.

Carolina has the 5th worst rushing defense in the league. Who here is willing to take the bet that Ingram will have back-to-back hundred yard games?

I didn't think so.

39.5% of the games

In 18 career games, Khiry has gone over 50 just 6 times
33.3% of the games

Color me even more unimpressed

118 carries - 1 carry 30+ yard. Lightning meet bottle.

Khiry Robinson probably would have had a good night last night if he had 24 carries, too. But Mark Ingram really did look quick, confident and powerful and he's looked that way since the second half of last season.

The Philly playoff game was certainly no easy task, but there was Mark Ingram being the guy we needed him to be. Running hard, gaining positive yards, controlling the clock.

I just don't see how Robinson is better. Robinson is good and complimentary, but not better. That's JMO.

Chances of him going back to back is slim. Not many RBs have back to back 100 games when playing sunday->thursday. Only Foster all season, and the company around him aren't random scrubs either.

Wanna know what RBs have hit 100+ yards rushing on TNF?
1. Marshawn Lynch - 110 yards (week after: 36 yards)
2. Eddie Lacy - 105 yards (previous sunday game: 48 yards)
3. Arian Foster - 109 yards (previous sunday game: 157 yards)
4. Chris Ivory: 107 yards (previous sunday game: 7 yards)
5. Ronnie Hillman: 109 yards (previous sunday game: 73 yards)

So 5/8 TNF games have had a 100 yard rusher.
Only 5 players/teams have gone 100 yards on TNF out of 16 teams.

I'll take the bet Ingram goes for 100+ if Sean Payton promises to let him rush over 20 times.

Knowing CSP, he'll come out and rush ingram 7 times and let Brees throw it 52 times.

I mean, I guess so. But for this discussion, I kinda figure we were talking about this year when Ingram is healthy.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining. I'm happy with both guys' performance so far.

Saints fans better get used to Khiry (who is a pretty good back) because Ingram is gone after the last game this season.

Anyone that thinks he's sticking around the Saints organization after this year is fooling himself. He will be in Atlanta, Seattle or Baltimore next year.

Is there any reason for him to stay? I'm all ears. It just doesn't seem like he is particularly happy with the Saints organization or the coaching staff's scheme and play calling.

He doesn't seem this way off the field, but I guess he could be faking.

For the sake of debate, I'm busting all the Ingram lovers balls over semantics. Both are quality backs.

Reality is Mark is finally turning into a good back from the end of the season continuing into this year. He's not consistent enough to be a feature back, imo. The Saints need a Robinson for the next game when Ingram decides to rush for 16 yards against a good defense.

I do really believe Robinson has more acceleration in the hole, similar to Doug Martin, thus I think Robinson would be, in the long run, the better back for this offense, especially with Lorig in the lineup. But that's JMO.

Either way, I think we have a good backfield, if we can stay healthy. I personally can't count on Ingram consistently having "good games" so I wish Robinson would get healthy soon.

Lol

Hard to be consistent when you're sharing carries

This could actually be a likely scenario. The money might not even be there even if they wanted to keep him.

Exactly. Payton is never going to run an offense that caters to Ingram's style and skillset and he believes all running backs are just interchangeable parts to be mixed, matched and traded. Saints aren't going to give Ingram that all-important, big second contract; so, he'll go elsewhere.

I agree, unless he feels loyal. Which I don't think he will be considering 75% of the fanbase still don't have his back it seems.

They don't give him the props, even after a big game, but the second he has a bad game...shite hits the fan quick.

I think almost any undfa scrub in this RBBC offense could easily re-produce 50 yards 17 times out of 43 games.

You act like I should be teary-eyed that Ingram might go waste someone else's money next year.
