So you are suggesting Ingram's "good games" come consistently?

More often than KR has ever done anything like them.

And for this moment you're using total yards to try to paint Ingram as some scrub. It's comical how transparent you are.

Man, when forced to make a choice, if anyone in here choses Khiry over Mark to be a featured back needs their head examined. Period. And Khiry is a great runner.

it's total yards...do you even look at any variables that rustle your purple and gold jimmies?

I think what we need to realize is that we're actually very talented here and there is a clear cut choice for #1, and the top three guys have very good skillsets.

I think what needs to happen is the offense needs to shift to this type of gameplan. Ball control, wearing down the defense. Not on the LSU scale, but as best the Saints can.

I'm really exhausted of seeing a great run on first down only to see an empty backfield shotgun formation for the next two plays when all we need are 3-4 yards.

And go back to last year, he's only carried it 20+ times twice

How are you supposed to produce 50+ yards if you only carry the ball this many times in games:
6 - would need 8.33ypc
9 - would need 5.55ypc
8 - would need 6.25ypc
3 - would need 16.67ypc
1 - would need 50 yards on a carry
3 - would need 16.67ypc

He had 13 carries vs. a top ranked carolina defense - 83 yards (6.4ypc), 18 carries for 97 yards vs. philly a top 10 YPC allowed run defense, and 10 carries for 49 yards vs. the #1 run defense seattle.

In 10+ carry games, he's gone for:
75 carries 388 yards (5.17ypc - not including the dallas game and GB game)

Including Dallas/GB:
113 carries 705 yards (6.23ypc)

Khiry's 10+ carry games combined:
76 carries 302 yards (3.97ypc)

That's giving you the benefit of equalizing it and taking out the two biggest outliers, and given the relative samples at an equal mark 10+ carries. They both carried it for 75 and 76 carries, but one guy did better.

The only times Ingram broke 100 yards was against the worst rushing defenses in the league.

Last year the worst was Dallas and he got 145, and this year the worst is GB and he got 174.

13 games apart.

In what universe is that consistent?

We've won more games when Khiry was playing than when Mark was playing.

Last night was the first and only time this year the Saints have won when Ingram has been active.

Know how many road games we've won with Ingram active?

0

Know how many road games we've won with Robinson active?

0

Ingram has played in 1 home game, we won decisively
Robinson has played in 2 home games, we won in OT and by 11 vs. Minnesota

Ingram played against the 5-3 GB Packers. Robinson played against the 1-6 TB Bucs and 3-5 Minnesota Vikings

Honestly, I hope that screw up there is not loose.

What an absolutely retarded metric to try to justify this. For your sake I really hope you've been trolling all thread.

I'm not trying to get into this pissing match, but that's really just not a legitimate thing to say. Anyone who has spent any time scouting football will tell you that Ingram is the far better back...better footwork, better vision, better quicks, better hands.

Mark Ingram is averaging 5.7 yards per carry over his last 100 carries. That's not a small sample size. That's over 100 carries dating back to last year. That 5.7 yards per carry leads every back in the NFL.

And, it's not because of a game here or a game there. He's averaging 5.7 on his 58 carries this year. He's averaging 5.7 on his 42 carries dating back to last year.

I'm sorry. Just color me unimpressed.

In 5 years, Ingram has gone over 100 ypg yards twice, both times over against the leagues worst defenses at the time.

In 43 career games, he's gone over 50 just 17 times.

He's just too inconsistent for my taste.

I'm with Bill Parcells. Khiry is a big, strong, fast back who can break a long one and who should be the starter.

You can't really judge ingram that way...it's not fair to him.

You can only judge his stats, imo, starting when we switched to a zone scheme in the middle of last year. He's a zone back.

When given the opportunity, especially in the last two seasons, Ingram has performed really well. It's the RBBC and CSP's distaste for the running game that makes his stats not as appealing.

Bama backs are zone backs. Bama is a zone system...all of their drills are zone drills.

We used to be a man scheme...that's the same as putting a round peg into a square hole. It didn't fit and it showed. Payton finally changed it up and switched to a zone scheme midway through 2013. The light came on and Ingram has been tearing it up ever since.

Oh...Eddie Lacy (another bama back) - Green Bay runs a zone scheme.

And, Trent Richardson (another bama back) - Cleveland ran a man scheme and Richardson was terrible. Traded to Indy. Indy runs a man scheme. He's still terrible. He would be GREAT in a zone scheme--just like Lacy and Ingram.
