They could do a lot worse. I think he would go/strongly consider if asked .

He's turned them down twice for pete's sake.

Miles is going to retire the winningest coach in LSU history.

Why do you say that. Just curious. I would not consider such a change, but I am from Louisiana.

It would be so cool if I could say that "Les Miles coaches my football team."

That would be such a great thing to brag about to Ohio State fans.

If Michigan hires Miles, the OSU fans on the More sports board (killernut, kosmokramer, etc) would stop running their mouths, and they would stop bullying the few Michigan fans that post on there.

Les already has made it perfectly clear that he's not uprooting his family and going elsewhere. They love it here.

I like him and I think he would win more than Hoke, but I just don't think he'll be able to build elite teams, based on our constraints, just like he did at LSU. Frankly, if I was him, I wouldn't come up here even if offered. He should've been our coach 7 years ago, and Michigan people have treated him like dirt. LSU fans are nuts, and don't seem to really appreciate him all that much either...but I think he's got a great gig going.

This guy pretty much has it nailed on all points.

He's not going to Michigan. It doesn't matter anyway because I think Harbaugh is a lock for that job.

Miles is in his 60s now.

He is operating out of the most fertile recruiting state in the country.

He has two of the best coordinators that money can get

He consistently competes for championships here.

If he retires from here he will go down in college football lore as one of the greats to walk the sidelines.

Why the frick would he give all of that up to go try to rebuild the shitstain that is Michigan right now?

Holy frick at the delusion in that thread.

They still think Michigan is one of the top coaching jobs in the country. I have news for them...

It is better that people think that you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Bring in Les Miles. He'll be around for 5-8 years. It rights the wrongs that he suffered at the hands of the Michigan A.D. re. 2007 and 2011. In his 5-8 years, he'll get Michigan back on track and competing for championships. He won't have LA in his backyard, but he'll still have connections for recruiting purposes and it's not like Michigan can't get talent. UM consistently fields top recruiting classes with subpar results, imagine if Michigan actually started winning with consistency.

Anyways, Les comes home for 5-8 years, gets everything in order and wins a lot along the way. This gives Jim plenty of time to finish what he started in the NFL and when Les is ready to hang it up, that's when Jim comes home.

And I thought us winning the SECW was a complicated scenario...

Miles is not about to leave the stacked team he has coming down the pipe in the next couple seasons to go rebuild Michigan. He's going all in to win another title before he retires and moves onto whatever comes next for him.
