With it giving him an inside track at becoming HC down the road? Lots of guys shite the bed their first HC gig. Miles could teach him the CEO ropes.

Please don't even suggest this. Muschamp is an over-hyped washed up head coach wannabe.

So you wish LSU could hire the coach Florida is about to fire for being a lousy head coach?

ETA: down voted....

At this point I don't think he'd have many options as a HC so it is likely the lure of staying in the SEC as a DC with the kind of freshman talent we have might be enough to bring him back. Wouldn't need to worry about the whole, "coach in waiting" circus.

eta: strictly as a DC, I wouldn't ever want Muschamp to be the HC.

Not sure this would be a match made in heaven, for him or LSU.

Some guys are HCs and some guys are ACs/DCs (Chavis by choice, Weis, Muschamp, Kiffin and eventually everyone will see Charlie Strong). Miles is one of the top coaches in the country. I cannot imagine a reason for firing him. He's head and shoulders above 99% of all coaches in the country. It just so happens he coaches against the other 1% (excluding Big Game Bob, Jimbo Fisher and Brian Kelly, who also deserve to be in the top 1%), when going up against Malzhan, Saban and Sumlin as conference foes (with Freeze, Mullin and Bielema not far behind). Nobody can win the national championship every year.

"Five letters here just for everybody out there in [Tiger-land]: R-E-L-A-X." We have one of the most talented skill set of freshman to ever play for one team (absent some of the paid for USC and SMU teams).

We're fine. If you all want to get rid of your season tix, someone else will pick them up. LSU football did not start in 2001 and it won't end in 2014. The mule is much happier that some of the bandwagoners from the last 13 years have finally jumped off.

Really?? Who are a few elite head coaches who have flamed out in their first HC job and then come back as a successful HC at a big-time program. I don't think it works like that.

A guy gets a shot as head coach, and if he fails, he usually goes back to a coordinator position and doesn't elevate above that again. Maybe at a small program, but not at a big one.

He is way to excited to be a head coach. He needs to either calm down or go back to being an assistant.
