Watched a video in the Pastalaya thread and Ive worked with some folks who do rinse their meat before cooking it. I don't but I'm interested to see how many people do this.

The latest recommendations from the "experts" say don't rinse. It just spreads any contamination there might be. Cooking's going to kill the bad bugs anyway.

I never rinse anything unless I drop it, which happens more often than I'd like to admit.

I always rinse meat (beef, chicken, seafood) bought at the market. It's stupid not to do so.

Yes, I wash all of the blood and whatever other things are in the package off the meat and pat dry. Don't really care about germs but I prefer the meat to be clean before I start prepping it.

Depends on what it is.

If it's chicken, yes. Just pat it dry with paper towels.

Same thing with fish.

Other than that, no.

A few months ago I read a study that you should never wash poultry since it would aerosolize any bacteria and increase the chances of cross contamination

To those that wash, what do you do about ground meats.

The only thing I usually rinse is bone in pork chops. They always seem to have a slight "slime" on them

Never really thought to rinse it.

I've gotten chicken breast wet for whatever reason.. maybe dropping meat or idk.. maybe if it isn't completely thawed.

But no, I don't rinse to clean it.

I also couldn't tell you the last time I even used a chicken breast for anything.
