I'm sure the OP considered it for the 15 yr old.
ain't wading through all of this but from what I've read, there's a bunch of hypocrites up in this thread, we were fricking when we were that age, as were our parents, grandparents, and so on, only difference that I can see is that parents these days enable the likelihood of it happening and raise their kids without instilling into them that there will be certain consequences for certain actions along with no curfew, dress code, chaperones, whatever, and then explode like the OP when they find out their kids are fricking/knocked up

I would regret not raising her with morals and not teaching her about birth control
You can teach all you want until the cows come home. It is still up to the kid whether or not they accept your teachings.
That said, for a 15 year old, abortion would be the first option, and putting up for adoption would be the second. The kid is way too young to contemplate parenthood and its implications upon the life of a 15 year old, and I am way too old to raise another child from birth to adulthood.

The standards in this country are not the basis for determining ability to survive. No a newborn can't obtain it's own food but it can process food unlike a parasite. You think in other countries they allow their children to sit on their arse until puberty or later? Look outside of your own little piece of the world before you make assumption about the capabilities of a normal developing human.

Reminds me of one of the abortion debates many years ago in the legislature, when there was debate about allowing rape as an exception to the proposed anti-abortion law. Then legislator Carl Gunter stood up and proclaimed, "If it was my daughter, I may not know who the father is, but I know who the proud grandpoppa will be."
Playboy awarded him the "Chauvinist Pig of the Year" award for that remark.

happened to my sister.
My uncle and Aunt adopted the baby as they couldn't have any more kids.
Worked out great for everyone. The dad actually teaches at Yale now, so he had a brain, my sister is married and has a boy and we all get to see her first kid at Thanksgiving. Though now she's my cousin.
She don't know the truth either, even though she has much darker hair and skin that my Swedish aunt or Pasty uncle.
I would think adoption is always better than abortion, but I am pro-choice, if that is her choice.

That doesn't sound very chauvinistic to me.

d never tell a soul how much of a whore your daughter is.
So. A guy who has sex at 15 is a pimp, a girl who has sex at 15 is a whore?
C'mon. Sex doesn't make someone a whore.

Not an option in my house, as my only child (a daughter) is 20 now, and a senior in undergrad.
had it happened, i'd have done what someone else said. blown my top, felt hurt, like a failure, and then, if my daughter said she wanted to keep the baby, i'd have made arrangements to support my daughter and grandchild until they could support themselves.
if my daughter said she wanted an abortion, i'd have counseled her very seriously about that choice - for her to understand that it's a permanent solution to a temp problem.
then, i'd have hugged my pregnant baby girl, as hard as I could, and through flowing tears, would have told her that there is not ONE THING she could ever do such that I'd forsake her. that I will always love her. and that this situation she's in will pass, and its passing will hopefully yield a beautiful child/grandchild, who will at all times be loved by me, and her mother.

It's a shite situation either way. Lose-lose if you ask me.
And furthers my lack of desire to have children. Just when you're a decade away from an empty nest and a new chapter in your life, your kid made a dumbass decision and you're stuck spending basically the remaining years of your life doing it all over again.. as if your life has no importance at all. Like being a parent is all you are and all you were destined to be ever. Awful. You selflessly chose to parent a child/children when you were younger, and now you should reap the rewards of doing it and having them move into the adult world. You shouldn't be stripped of that.
Chances are, I wouldn't be able to not help my kid either... as many have said. It would kill me not to.
But shite like this is exactly why I don't want to ever be at risk for these things.

do the right thing and put the baby up for adoption. lots of great families out there that can't have kids and have lots of means to support the kid and give them the love they deserve

I have an eleven year old daughter, I can't even think about it my mind won't let me. I haven't read this thread but I would most likely have to be committed somewhere

Has abortion been mentioned yet? Have her do that.

your daughter and he had sex, she got knocked up, how does that make him a loser?

My only issue with this is that it's a permananent solution to a permanent problem. The pregnancy may be temporary, but that kid is permananent once it comes out.

I'd say , "aftigerfan, weren't you and your wife about to adopt before you ended up having a child? How would you like to adopt a baby in about 8 or 9 months?"
And I'd say, let's get started.
