Only thing I didn't like was the cat woman scenes. They all just seemed forced
see i felt this way with ivy. that felt extremely forced to me. i actually liked the first cat woman (are we calling her that still even if shes 14?) scene. thought it was a cool transition to the wayne murder and will have a solid connecting for the characters.
eta: while on the topic of the villains, i liked the riddler one a lot.

Bruce is batman right?
Ivy wasn't forced. She was hardly there really. The cat woman scenes were "here I am!! Notice me please. K. Thanx"

Gotham on Fox Season Premier Thread* I liked it as well. I thought the casting was excellent, and I liked the dark tone of the show. I also loved how they have set up the current and upcoming criminal problem that Gotham has, and how the peace for the masses was being maintained up to this point by Falcone, which appears about to break loose. My only probably is I don't know how they plan on stretching this out over more than 3 or 4 seasons without running out of plot points since everyone knows that the only way the city gets cleaned up is by Batman.
Yeah. I really enjoyed it but I don't see how they will be able to stretch out this show beyond 3 seasons.

If they were smart they'd only do four seasons and have a definite end point and work their way up to it. But execs are stupid.

Did you not see what I was responding to? Cat WOMAN is a kid... No different than us call Bruce batMAN even though he's just as young. I guess I should have quoted.

Is the Joker supposed to be in the show?
Posted on 9/23/14 at 1:57 am to Bama and Beer
Here's what I picked up:
Oswald Cobblepot (Penguin) is an arms dealer in the comics above all else. It would make sense that he got his start as a low-level thug. Really creepy
Edward Nygma (Riddler) started off working for the police in the comics, so they got that one right (forensics)
Renee Montoya (Question) is Batwoman's lover in the comics. She started off in the MCU, so they got that one right.
Barbara Kean (Gordon's fiancee) is the older sister of Katie Kaine (Batwoman)
Sarah Essen (Police Captain) is the woman Gordon cheats on his wife with in Year One. A little different from the comics and she's the commissioner before Loeb.
Crispus Allen (Montoya's partner) is her partner in the comics, and becomes the Spectre
Ivy Pepper isn't quite the same as Poison Ivy (Pamela Eisley) but it appears they want to go in a different direction
Of course Selena Kyle is only slightly older than Bruce Wayne, but it would make sense that she's drawn to him.

Eesh. I'll keep watching because it's Batman stuff, but this is pretty awful so far. They're not even trying to be subtle or clever with the characters/backstory. Ivy becomes a criminal because they kill her dad. Penguin's already called Penguin for no apparent reason. Catwoman is already a thief. Edward Nigma already in the show just because. For fricks sake.
Agreed. The acting was pretty terrible also. They should've just focused on one or maybe two characters to begin with. Introducing every character was a mistake.
I'll give it another episode or so but it needs help fast

Kind of. I think they are supposed to introduce a different character in certain episodes that could be him (like the comedian in last nights episode), but not say if it is him or not. I imagine that they will eventually reveal the real Joker, but it may be a season or two down the road.

They said they will eventually reveal who he is, but until that point they will jut throw out several possibilities.
Last night's possible Joker was the comedian. He will not be the joker because he seemed too uncomfortable with the illegal acts going on while he was on stage.

Also agreed. I found it pretty bad so far. I'll give it a few more shots, but the acting has been awful. And it's not as "dark" as some of you are making it sound. Whatever, I'll give it two more episodes

Takes some balls to open a series with a crime you know they won't solve.
I got a real "Gentleman" Johnny Marcone vibe from Falcone.
Penguin and Bullock were great.
The only problems I had was Gordon giving his badge/asking permission from a 10 year old kid and we get it already! She's going to be Catwoman.
