its at least strike 3 that we know of. I believe it is safe to assume there is a lot more we don't know about considering how FSU handles business.

Yeah, theres nothing wrong with standing up in the middle of a school cafeteria and screaming "frick her in the Pussy", especially when you are the face of the football program and school

Not really. This stuff happens all the time. This time it happened to be the reigning Heisman trophy winner. It happened to be caught on tape and it happened be said by someone already previously accused of rape. Stars aligned and that's why it's in the news.

Football players do things like this (and much worse) all the time, and it doesn't see the light of day in the news.

Bc like it or not, most people are fricking morons.

Hell, dawgfanca started a thread on the poll board talking about how Winston's right to due process was violated and his lawyer should have been involved and he should have a right to a public hearing

Again, you are the face of the university and football program, you are held to a higher set of standards.

i wish people would understand that "freedom of speech" does not grant them immunity from consequence for what they say....

he freely said what he said, but that doesn't mean he is not be held accountable for the consequence those words created....

So what did he say that was so bad? I know he stood up and yelled something but what exactly did he say?

He stood on the table in the cafeteria and screamed out "frick her right in the pussy" multiple times.

It also doesn't apply in the same ways to a college campus.

Most people don't know that freedom of speech does not give you the right to say what you want to say wherever you want to say it. Then again, most people are dumb.

Technically he could be in violation of the First Amendment if the Tallahassee community would consider his language "obscene"

I'm guessing that in Panhandle Florida the word "frick" would be considered obscene if someone shouted it at the top of his lungs in public. Or Walmart.

You think there aren't any past Heisman trophy winners and team captains that haven't done this type of shite and nothing came of it?

LOL

Your argument is "Well others have gotten away with it, so he should too"

Well frick, Winston got away with stealing grab legs, I guess EVERY football player should have a right to steal whatever the hell they want

Nice strawman. Where did I say he should get away with it?

If he gets caught he gets caught. My thing is let's not act like this is some outrageous thing a symptom of some vile culture because it's not.

my thinking is that had he not had so many strikes, publicly, already, then this wouldn't be a 1/2 to full game suspension... he'd be running until he threw up after practice, at most....

but now he casting a pretty dim shadow on the university, while not really having any consequence to his actions, to this point.... this is about public perception of the program and university, plain and simple....

i don't buy the full game suspension as a result of "indescrepancies" in the accounts given by Winston and eye witnesses.... i do believe FSU saw the "moral outrage" and negative public comments about the handling of it, and thought the longer suspension would placate that crowd...

The backup must have had a good week of practice for Jimbo to make the suspension for the whole game.
