Some thoughts on pro wrestling (WWE) as it is today

Let's face it-WWF or WWE is a shell of its former self. So what exactly happened? In this day in age the best of the best are available, people aren't getting overlooked or unseen-that's basically in any sport.
In the mid 90s thru the mid 2000s wrestling fans didn't seem to be bitching about outcomes and who they thought should have won. Is it writing? Creative team?
The WWE has just about ridden John Cena to death, and rightly so. He's still a moneymaker. Daniel Bryan is hurt so that sucks. The WWE pissed off CM Punk so much he just said F it-not leaving the WWE for another company-pissed enough to just as I'm done. The Wyatt Fam/Shield stuff seems neat, Orton is still around. It just seems like it's limping along.
Brock Lesnar is the WWE Champion and that dudes gives no shits about wrestling and everyone knows it. They just paid him something like 5 mil for 26 shows. They're constantly bringing older wrestlers back for Wrestlemania like the Lesnar(at least he's wrestling now) and The Rock. I just remember it being so entertaining as a kid that I couldn't take my eyes off it. You had so many fun people to watch-Stone Cold, Bret Hart, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, HHH, Undertaker, Kane.
What's happened to those type guys? Management not letting a guy get through like that? What happened to Ryback? Seems like they had something going there albeit he isn't the best showman/mic specialist. The WWE just seems pathetic now and it's in a time where there isn't real competition. The WWE Network hasn't come close to expectations, these Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro, Sheamus cards have got to bore y'all to death.
Miz is battling for the Intercontinental Title next PPV. The dude shouldn't even be on the roster. Lesnar is the champ and he doesn't like wrestling and is known for only doing it for the money by many former wrestlers.
It's a joke now.

Wrestling has long-been awful, this is nothing new.

It went downhill when they made the hypnosis finishing move illegal.

What happened is that McMahon bought wcw for a cheap price and doesn't have any real competition. Therefore wwe has been complacent in regards to production booking wrestlers as well as developing talent. I do like that lesnar is champion.

That was a long setup but totally worth it for the punch line.

The reason why they continue to bring back guys like Brock and Rock is because they have no bonafide megastars. Cena is their top guy, but his popularity is nothing compared to past top guys like Austin, Rock, and Hogan. Daniel Bryan is OK, but he's not a superstar and WWE suits know it. Like him or not, Lesnar is the most legit champ they've had in years. They dropped the ball by not putting the belt on him when he originally came back. Having him put over Cena (and then HHH) was an absolute joke. The TV shows nowadays are nothing but filler between ppvs, so they're not even worth watching. Back during the WWF/WCW Monday Night wars, both sides were working their tails off to put forth their absolute best product week after week in an attempt to outdo one another. With the demise of WCW, that passion doesn't exist anymore. WWE can put out any product they want and the fans are forced to accept it. I'm sure they plan on pushing Roman Reigns as the next big thing, with Brock putting him over at 31, but they're taking a huge risk with someone so green that might end up backfiring on them. Hopefully there are some guys in NXT who have the something special it takes to spark interest -- I really like what I've seen with Prince Devitt and think he could be the next megastar, if used properly.

I actually like Claudio (cesaro) he has an awesome skill set. I actually thought he was a great draw when he was teamed with jack swagger

Currently it's God awful. I sincerely regret spending money to go to the show a few nights ago.
But it goes through periods of really high highs and really low lows. Right now is a super low low.

They really screwed up with him. He was crazy over after WM30 -- aligning him with Heyman was a huge mistake.

Yeah it sucks. I'm guessing creative have no clue about wrestling. I have a feeling bray Wyatt will stay at mid card level thanks to John cena. I'd like to continue to see rusev get pushed

I fricking loved wrestling when I was growing up in the 90's. I still think it was awesome as I was growing up. Saturday morning cartoons were awesome as I was growing up too. I grew up though. I no longer watch any of it. I think it's great that kids love watching it but when I see people my age watching it I think it's kind of silly.

I tuned in awhile back and loved it.
Has anyone said Fan-DANNNN-go correctly yet? I hope so because once he actually starts wrestling, he'll go far.

Apparently he's an a-hole backstage and no one likes him.

Not really. Ziggler and Cesaro are both great wrestlers, though they seem to have dropped the ball with Cesaro lately. Maybe kids like Miz, I don't know. Sheamus is ok. I don't hate him.

1. No competition
2. No decent regional territories to get experience before hitting the big stage.
3. The internet has "smartened" everyone up. If the internet existed in the 80s with Hogan, he would have gotten the same reaction as Cena gets today.

THATS the JOKE.............
The WWE sucks and I don't see a way for them to turn it around... BUT its STILL a HUGE money maker and why would they care how bad the product might be as long as people are willing to pay to watch it???
