Peterson is much more important and visible in relation to the image of the NFL than a couple of old rich white dudes who your average fan wouldn't recognize.
It's not necessarily fair but that's how it is.
But Jerry Jones is VERY recognizable. And Pepsi is a major Cowboys sponsor.

Now that is a very good point

Only one of those three was "arrested" and he got a suspension for DUI associated with personal drug use so I do t see your point.

Irsay didn't hurt anyone, underwent counseling and all that jazz.
Due process is a legal term, and it doesn't apply here. He admitted to the act, and the pictures hit the airwaves.
According to your logic, Sterling didn't get due process either, though the NBA certainly distanced themselves from him.
I promise you, if this came out about any of the owners, coaches, or any other support/financial position in the NFL... the reaction would have been the same.

Sponsors on the Irsay situation:
quote:
Indianapolis Colts sponsors appear to be rallying behind, not abandoning, the team following owner Jim Irsay's March 16 arrest for driving under the influence and illegal drug possession in Carmel.
"The support level for the organization is at its highest point ever," said Dave Moroknek, CEO of Indianapolis-based MainGate Inc., a Colts sponsor which also handles the team's merchandise sales. "The sponsors are behind this team. People want to be there for the team at its time of need. We're certainly behind the man [Jim Irsay] right now."
The reason for the support is simple, Moroknek said.
"That man has done an unbelievable amount for this city," he said. "He's done a ton of charitable work and a lot of things people don't know about and will never know about because he hasn't sought to publicize them. People feel it's time to support Jim and his family since he's supported this community and the fans here."
quote:
Forrest Lucas, founder of Lucas Oil Co., one of the team's biggest sponsors, was contacted by the Colts Monday.
"I didn't hesitate to put my support behind Jim," Lucas said. "I'm not for drunk driving or drug abuse, but I think he's addressing those issues. None of that erases all the good this man has done for the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana."

True, but a civil suit screams bullshite and I think most of them are smart enough to know that. If they pulled sponsorships over that and it's completely false he could make them look extremely stupid.

With the alcohol and drugs, I also think people that are not close to the situation see a rich guy only hurting himself. That makes the general populace pity him, not outraged.

Just FYI, Pepsi and Anheuser have deals with the Cowboys as well the as the NFL. I imagine Jerrah's indiscretions will be mentioned next time the sponsorships are up for renewal.
