Undefeated in regulation time. Not just any 2 loss team but the

Greatest. 2 loss. Team. Ever.

And wasn't Cal ranked no. 1 for like 20 mins and then blew it?

2007 was horrible. Cal had a ton of talent that year (at least 7 guys are still in the NFL), beat Tennessee (the Vols won the SEC East that year), beat an excellent Oregon team, then after Kevin Riley failed to throw the ball away with a few seconds left against Oregon State, the whole season just fell apart.

I thought Cal was #2 when that happened.

I highly doubt we would have lost to OSU in the MNC if we played them

Maybe.. OSU would have had a better chance against WVA than OSU had against LSU....

Chokelahoma beat Missouri. Chase Daniel was the qb at Missouri.

It was my first "real" season following football in earnest, I'd paid attention to LSU before then but never with the intensity or national interest.

Sooooo good. Best intro to CFB ever. Just absolutely magical, and it helped that my team won the title too

Probably my favorite season in recent memory. Had we been a little deeper we would've made a serious run in the SEC. By the State game we were so banged up. I remember Keenan Burton playing on two sprained ankles.

Thanks for this thread. I agree 07 was magical. Just wild. And it "felt" like we were watching good football across the country.
