Allow me to lay out the optics on how this will be perceived in the court of public opinion.

CBS has intro song featuring a victim of domestic abuse.

NFL royally fricks up handling of a domestic abuse case.

CBS shits pants and edits out domestic abuse victim.

Domestic abuse victim says: "WTF CBS? Why am I being removed because the NFL fricked up on a domestic abuse case? You guys suck!"

CBS responds to domestic abuse victim: "You're Fired!"

Maybe they should have given her a heads up or something? You guys are too much trying to defend some stiff in a suit who thinks he's the smartest guy on the planet. I bet if you could hang out with the CBS exec and then hang out with Rihanna you'd be like "WTF was I defending that prick so hard"?
You're just not holding Rihanna to the same standard because you like her. CBS should've informed her. She should've been mature enough to not post that on social media. She made that mistake, whether you like it or not. And if she hadn't, she'd still have the job (and by job, TnM83, I mean still be on NFL telecasts on CBS through her agreement with the NFL)

Rhianna is the biggest music star in the world?

Well I give up, may a giant asteroid hit the earth soon.

surprising to me at least.

but oh well, CBS is not in a good spot, they should backtrack quickly.

eta: I am betting that CBS benefited from their reliationhip more than rhinna. She sells a ton of albums/singles without them

Seems like she condoned the beating she received by going back to him a few times afterwards and even planning a song together. This is not the person I would want representing my company or even having any tiny part in it I.E. her part in a song. Especially since the NFL is trying to clean up the image.

I'm not the type to trash the people who pay me, when I don't agree with certain decisions, on fricking social media. I'm not an idiot. You should do that. Next time something shitty happens at work, go trash your whole company on your twitter or facebook or LinkedIn. See what happens.

You don't have frick you money so it's understandable that you have to eat a lot of shite. Rhianna and you aren't playing on the same field so the rules for your life don't apply to her life.

Pretty much this - I don't think that he understand that she's essentially U2 or Madonna in their prime.

If Rihanna is/was scheduled to perform at the Grammy's in January, she could probably have their heads rolling if she truly wants to play hardball.

Zach has no idea who Rihanna is but her name reminds me of a 60s rock song. Can someone help me out with that? Something like Breanna, Freonna, Gonzanna?

Genro, do you think it was a good move for CBS to edit out her part of the song because she was once a victim of domestic violence?

No. She should've taken that up with the NFL/CBS. That's how you deal with problems. Directly.

No, that's what cellphones, cars, and our basic ability to speak, are excellent for.

Hey, the decades get all messed up with me. I keep seeing lounge singers on billboards who I thought died in the 80s. But they're still alive and appearing on the casino boats in Shreveport.
