She doesn't need the CBS promo, and I'm sure she was aware of the consequences when she tweeted it. Good for her for standing up for herself.

I'm fine with that point of view. If she understood the consequences and accepts them, good for her.

She ain't a victim.

Are you the type that doesn't mind getting fricked over and just takes it?

Weird how people agree/disagree with private businesses dumping people because of statements they like or dislike. Revisiting the Phil Robertson thread and comparing to comments in this one might be fun.

But I agree she shouldn't have cussed. If I was a publicist I would have workflow attached to all my clients twitter feeds.

I will say that was fricking retarded on CBS's part, there will be blowback.

She was a victim though because CBS reneged on their agreement for a ridiculous (and offensive) reason.

Dude, WTF? They fired her over a stupid tweet. CBS did not beat her, I don't why I have to clarify that.

Hey, we'll promote you and we don't care if you talk shite about our main vehicle of promotion and source of revenue." Only if they said that, could it be considered reneging.

Timeline:

1. CBS edits her out of her song
2. She says WTF
3. CBS dumps her

I agree 100% with her saying WTF. It is an insult to her and they only did it because she was a victim of domestic violence. Bunch of fricking cowards and she called them out on it.

I fully understand that you think taking it in the arse is fine and dandy, but she had every right to be critical and that is the bottom line.

Have you seen the contract? Every contract in the entertainment biz has clauses for shite like this. She signed it.

Is that illegal? Does that give her the right to trash her employer? Do they not still have their rights?

Of course she did. And the company has every right to fire her for it.

And that is the bottom line.

Totally agree. Not like she isn't the most popular singer in the world right now and calling a spade a spade is a good thing.

How so?

All CBS did was not play her video last Thursday so they could lecture all us men on domestic violence.

CBS probably thought Rihanna would agree to what CBS did since she was a victim of domestic violence.

In fact, as the article states, CBS was going to play her music on the rest of the Thursday night game broadcasts as well as a bunch of regular Sunday game broadcasts.

BTW - CBS broadcasts a little shindig called "The Grammys" in like 4 months.

I have a feeling this CBS Sports exec who made the ill fated decision to piss off the biggest music star in the world might be in a considerable amount of hot water over this...

Maybe they should have given her a heads up or something? You guys are too much trying to defend some stiff in a suit who thinks he's the smartest guy on the planet. I bet if you could hang out with the CBS exec and then hang out with Rihanna you'd be like "WTF was I defending that prick so hard"?
