think Les Miles respects Miss St a little more than he feared Sam Houston. Look for a similar game play to the Wisconsin game. Hopefully now that Jennings has 3 more starts under his belt, we will not be quite so reliant on the power running game, but we will see.

I agree for the most part. I don't think Mississippi State has a very good secondary. They got absolutely torched on several deep balls by UAB and we have faster play makers than they do. At some point the light will come on for Jennings and he should be able to move the ball successfully through the air. I have no doubts about that with Cam Cameron coaching him. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Jennings went for 250 in this game. That should allow us to win without a couple of major turnovers.

Just judging by Les' past tendancies, we will play the 1890 ball, and be in a tight ball game for four quarters, only to pull away late and win by 11. Which is fine, but you leave yourself vulnerable to a turnover or one big play biting you in the arse.

This could happen. MSU will likely stack the box with their big D-lineman and just hope that we run it. Our running game has been okay, but not good enough to just blast through good SEC D-lines (from what I can tell so far). Magee has not looked as quick this year and only averaged 3.6 against ULM. I think that's his average for the year. Hilliard has probably looked like the best back. The other guys look good, but are just freshman. We haven't been overpowering with the run game and our O-line hasn't opened up big holes often. So while we are who we are, the smart thing to do would be to mix in more passing than we've been seeing against this team. That's where the advantage should be.

Moo St will give us fits for 3 quarters thanks to Les Miles philosophy, then we will pull away for the win

Not surprising that you would try to put a negative spin on us winning football games under the "Les Miles philosophy". So much intelligence.

State does have a really solid front 4. If our offensive line blocks the same as it has been the first three games, we could have some problems early on. However, we still may be able to wear them out in the 2nd half.

We're gonna need to force a few turnovers.

From past history to now it makes zero sense for a media member to pick Miss St. over LSU, especially at home unless they're just looking to grab attention, and this thread has given MD attention. So it worked for him.

All this talk reminds me of the threads before we played South Carolina. Our O-line play was underwhelming before that game. Everyone was convinced our O-line would be gashed and our running game stuffed.

I expect our O-line to come up big in this game.

Bingo. Our O line absolutely dominated that entire game.

UAB cuts their QB loose and let's their offense roll, LSU does not. Apples meet Oranges.

Yeah, but I don't care how much UAB lets their offense roll - UAB is UAB. My point was that State has big issues in their secondary if UAB throws for 400+ on them. Our coaches are supposed exploit the other teams' weakness. If they don't, it's on them and not the players.

He picked the Saints to win in blowouts. This is a good omen for LSU.

ULM's d line shut lsu down

Not exactly, they had help from the linebackers and safeties.

At least I'm pretty sure they didn't have 9 linemen in on defense.

I'm looking for LSU to spread MSU out and run the ball from 3 WR sets like they were doing against Wisconsin in the 2nd half with some success. That should set up some serious play action against their secondary as well.

Hilliard has probably looked like the best back.

Hilliard 41 carries, 5.2 yard avg.
Fournette 31 carries, 5.2 yard avg.

Hilliard picked up 90+ yards in the 4th quarter vs Wisconsin. This photo is an example of how it wasn't exactly Hilliard making the difference.

That hole is literally as big as my couch. Delahoussaye could have picked up 12 yards on that play (Hilliard got 17 yds).

So for every quarter this year, with the exception of the 4th quarter against Wisconsin (Fournette received one carry on an option pitch), Fournette has had the most yards per carry.

Did he talk about the passrush up the middle and blowing up the launch pad?

His opinion is not far fetched.

Every game in the SECW is dangerous.

If MSU stifles our running game like ULM did, we'll have over 200 yards rushing.

ULM is ranked WAYYY above MSU in total defense through 3 games (#21 to #70).

Add in opening SEC weekend at home at night. Maybe I'm the only one not worried about this game.

Nope. I'm not either.

Not saying we win by 30, but I don't think Mississippi State is very good. Lots of preseason hype.
