It seems like AP whipped the child out of ignorance and didn't truly realize how overboard he was due to him being punished in the same way. Parental counseling should be a must and he should not play next week against the saints.

Would you rather take 1 punch from Ray Rice or several lashes with a stick on your fricking balls from Adrian Peterson???

When you defend Adrian Peterson against the accusation that he inflicted severe injury to a child and are aware that one of the injuries was to the scrotum and under the guise of discipline, you are exactly downplaying what he did.

He inflicted severe pain. Which can be said is severe abuse.

But not severe injury.

Irrelevant point, once again.

Many kids may describe getting a shot at the doctor's office as severe. They cry and scream and sometimes have to be held down to administer the shot.

But that doesn't mean a shot causes severe injury.

People differ on what a severe injury is. To some, severe is a broken bone, dislocated elbow, something that causes extended hospitalization or pain, a bad scrape on the knee, bleeding from a cut/puncture, or a smushed finger on a car door.

I think we can all agree the disciplinary action was excessive, but anything after that depends on the person viewing it. We don't view things all the same nor were we all raised the same.

This example is another instance of you downplaying AP's beating a child so badly that he caused an injury to the child's scrotum.

You're so close to waving the white flag. Just do it already.

Looks like AP really enjoyed discipline his kids.

I suppose this will change things but should it? Can't it be assumed he would be consistently abusive towards his kids?

The moral authority of the NFL has spoken though.

I personally don't care if he did or not. People get riled up over it all the time. It has 0 effect on my life (outside of fantasy).

My opinion is he was excessive and that's it. I got my arse whooped, border-line abuse because my dad didn't know any better because he was raised the same way in his country.

Will I do the same to my kids, no. But you can expect I will spank them when they're wrong. Those passive parents that just "yell" and their kids still run rampant/spoiled are my fear as a potential parent.

Dungy is about as dumb as a rock. I think it's safe to say that if you draw blood while striking your child you have indeed gone to far.
