..like Donkey Kong. I've been refilling the feeders due to being empty instead of the nectar going bad. best year i've ever seen for them.

I was at an inspection yesterday in your neck of the woods and could see them buzzing behind me in when I looked at a window. Turned around and there were 4 about 3' away buzzing all around like wasp...

They were around the feeder on the porch, it just happened to be a few feet from my head.

only see 2 at my feeder. May still be a bit early. I used to have them buzz me in the deer deer stand in October.

I've got a few around my feeder, but the problem is one just sits in the crepe myrtle next to the feeder and chases off any others that try and feed. Every day. All. fricking. Day.

I was watching them the other day from a distance and noticed they weren't going all the way up to the filled feeder so I got closer to check it out.

I noticed that there was a B&C bull red wasp guarding the damn feeder. I took that beotch out so that my dehydrated birds could drink.

That will happen with one feeder. I have 4 in a very small area. Once enough birds show, they aggressive ones can no longer guard one feeder, and they give up. Going to put up two more this evening. May take some video.

I have 3 feeders on my porch. It's not unusual to see 20 plus out there. Most I have seen sitting on one feeder is nine. Usually once there is about 4 or 5 one of them has poke at another one.

One keeps getting trapped on our patio. They aren't as hard to catch as I though they would be. Have to catch the same one about three times.
