Other first time SEC quarterbacks played much better. Our QB expectations are absurdly low.

His first half was as bad as I've seen from an LSU QB in the Miles era (minus the 80 yd one-off). But the entire offensive scheme was fricked and we generally seemed to be calling pass plays in third-down pressure situations. He was markedly improved in the second half.

And I think Wisky is better than any team that the other SEC schools beat save Clemson. Georgia looked damned good in that game.

Ya I'm pulling for him.

The sky high throws were a bit bizarre though

The Wisky QB was worse. Could not throw an accurate pass and many misreads. Jennings looked very anxious early, but gained confidence as game progressed. He does have happy feet though.

Are you joking?

Let's be fair to the kid. He has 2 career starts. One against Iowa in a bowl game and 1 against Wisconsin in the season opener. He's 2-0 against 2 teams that have great coaching, recruiting, and tradition in 2 tough scenarios.

Observations: Jennings' per avg completion was 25 yards. Second, he threw 2 TD's and no INTs. Third, his demeanor and body language were outstanding. Fourth, he was patient and never gave up.

He had a sense of urgency when necessary and seemed to command the huddle extremely well. I saw him once get impatient with the sideline waiting for the call - which I liked.

The guy looks like a winner to me.

thought the exact same opposite. He looked lost. The OL just seemed to be going through the motions for him. Lethargically walking up to the line. His huddle has no energy.

And even worse when the ball was snapped. He locked on his 1st WR, and if it wasn't there, he panicked. He has bad pocket presence, as he tends to fall backward instead of stepping up. Of course, that happens because his first instinct is to run if his first WR isnt open.

He threw 3 screen passes that were absolutely terrible, and all 3 looked to be nice gainers. That can be corrected, but still. Come on.

With that being said, he did make some decent throws, especially in the 2nd half. The Desean Smith drop was pretty big, that would have been a big play.

I guess you missed Wisconsin's QB McEvoy 8 of 24 for 50 yards and 2 INTs no TD performance...

AJ was only 9-21 but for 238 yards and 2 TDs and No INTs...

Yet you rate AJ the worst...Ok...

Most of those incompletions came in the first half when he was running for his life. He looked good once the oline woke up and blocked.

To be fair, you could at least make a reference to the entire game as opposed to just the first half (which your analysis is completely correct).

And consider the opponent and the circumstance. He's 2-0 against Iowa and Wisconsin in a bowl game and season opener (both on the road).

The kid never gave up and started pouting on the sidelines or went "Aaron Brooks" and started smiling and joking each time he screwed up.

Let's see how he progresses.

a lot of smart throw-aways amongst the 21 "attempts". Stats are so deceptive.
