Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
So the Ray Rice Fallout continues with a new domestic violence policy. Six games for 1st offense, lifetime ban for 2nd.

This all could have been avoided if Rice were given a stiffer penalty than, say, smoking weed. I mean, come on NFL.

Wives and significant others may not report domestic violence now. They would lose their meal ticket.

Damn. That's a pretty aggressive PR campaign to remove the egg a day after dropping the Josh Gordon news

Good.

Once COULD be the result of a misunderstanding, but twice shows a pattern.

Is it when a player is accused? Arrested? Convicted?

A bright-line rule is stupid, IMO. How about Goodell not be a fricking idiot and be able to use rationale discretion. If it is a War Machine situation it shouldn't take two times to get banned for life. If a player is legitimately acting in self-defense and things get out of hand while doing so...

Somehow Greg Hardy's bitch arse will somehow likely escape blame under this policy.

What happens if a crazy spoiled wife literally throws herself down stairs just to hurt her nfl player husband?

They're hearing the feedback from the Gordon suspension

They know they fricked it all up

Policy was written to give them a pass for the 2 game suspension

2nd offense

It's like pro wrestling.
When the ref catches you cheating, you have to stop cheating within 3 seconds or you get disqualified.
