You know, I could always check up on the yard while you are out of town.
No problem, think I will be living there until the second week August. Let me know.

I wish more of y'all would post on this board for advice on food and drink. My thought
Nola blonde then Abita amber/fat tire then sweet water ipa and finally Guinness
When you've reached Guinness then you and I can hang at the rose
Cheers

I read that as Guinness was the least of the ones you listed and nola blonde was greater of those...and what's the rose???
Posted on 8/21/14 at 10:43 pm to CENLALSUFAN
shite. I meant those in order from least to greatest!

I edited my corrections. Anyways, the Erin Rose is one of a handful of dives that will pour a proper Guinness in the correct glassware. It's been my go to beer always. The lack o carbonation makes it lighter than it appears. I can down plenty without a burp if that explains it

Read the FBD thread, I have been going since about 11am. I deserve some slack.

Get her a good hard cider like Crisping, serve in a glass with a little ice.

I really like Nola Hopitoulas.

something that looked interesting, was blue dog blueberry lager
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Don't do that!
Not sure what Leblanc's has but I'd bet on a few. Give the NOLA Blonde a shot. Louisiana brewed blonde ale that is pretty decent. It won't be a huge taste shock to what you're used to drinking. If you want to try something with a little more flavor, give NOLA's Brown Ale a try. It will have more malt flavor.

There are only ale and lager
No "other"
Of course there are "others", beer does not require the use of an ale or lager yeast strain. While most commercially available beers are either ales or lagers, beers fermented with brettanomyces are neither ales or lagers and are still beer.
If you want a fruit beer I'd suggest Abita Strawberry as a good starting point.
If you really feel like drinking a stout/porter when it's 100F outside, I second all of BMoney's recommendations.

Samuel Smith's Organic Lager is a great gateway beer too.
Cheers!

Personally this has never phased me. I think a nice stout or porter is one of the easier intro styles outside of things like Belgians/Blondes/Wits
