Let's level the playing field then. This bike is a much more apt comparison to $32k golf clubs:

$101k

how is this different than people spending $32,000 on golf clubs?

No different, imho. I play disc golf, so wouldn't do that either.

As to the numbers in CA, the people over there are super health conscious, and they ride all over the place. I pass dozens of riders on the Silverado Trail every time I go over there. SF costs a fortune to live in, and those who do typically have enough money to spend on a 5 figure bike. Some may not even have cars, b/c parking is a complete bitch in the city.

When there I ride my Rockhopper over to Billco's for some IPAs, to avoid any potential DWI. Bikes are great.

so now you've switched your argument to moving parts?

damn, you really are a moron...why the frick would a golfer care about hydraulic brakes and electronic shifting?

Let's see how you switch the scope of the argument again to make a pointless point.

HOLY frick

let me try again:

golfing = rich man's sport. y'all drop thousands on green fees and equipment.

cycling/triathlons = rich man's sport. we drop thousands on road bikes & component upgrades.

i didn't realize this was a contest as to whether golf clubs were more valuable than bikes.

you can also buy 18 clubs off ebay for $75 and you can buy a huffy for $75

If you don't think they are engineered/designed/researched in the same fashion as bikes then you're fooling yourself.

The $32k clubs are only that much because they are plated in metals that cost $1,000+ an ounce.

I guess the proper bike comparison here would be this gold plated bike for a nice 1 million

um, it isn't.

but to be fair, you're the one who brought up a $32k set of clubs.

you made the assumption golfers spend 32k on golf clubs like bikers spend 10k on bikes...which is wrong...not sure how you missed this in your original argument but I guess I can't expect you to see that or even admit it....keep changing the argument! YAY!!!!

Things I have learned in this thread:

1. Cyclists are proud of their shite

2. Golfers are equally proud of their shite

It was a terrible comparison. You found the most expensive clubs in the world to compare to a relatively modest bike price range.

you can't change the argument 20 times then declare yourself the winner.

What would you say if I told you my two main hobbies are golf and cycling?

I think I just blew my own mind.

this is true

but it's not on the clubs and I'm glad you've at least seen the difference in a weird way without realizing you have admitted to being wrong
