If y'all don't mind reading subtitles, check out Guillermo del Toro's The Orphanage. Very creepy and tense.

This is another good one. I watched it because I loved Pan's Labyrinth so much. Was not disappointed.

The night vision camera scene where the creature is just standing there behind one of the characters was creepy as all hell.

Kind of a spoiler:

The UK ending is definitely the better and more satisfying ending.

You're watching the wrong scary movies, brother.

Glad you saw this one. It's one of the good ones.

The Descent and 28 Days Later are, IMO, the two best English-made horror movies made in the new millenium. Unless I'm just glossing over an obvious choice, they have no peer. Truly scary and original.

I love the genre and would rate Descent an A-. Some of my favorites are from the 1970's and they would be Jaws, Alien, Halloween and The Changeling (the old one with George C. Scott).

SPOILERS

In the original US release, she escapes. The original UK version shows the escape was a hallucination, and it ends with a shot of the entire cave, and that she is surrounded with no escape, and is about to die.

There's another alternate version in which she escapes and is then hit by a car. That is dumb.

You're forgetting Dog Soldiers, a bad arse film made by the director of the Descent. Dog Soldiers is a man's movie and I love it. This and 28 Days Later. Didn't really care for the Descent or 28 Weeks.

If you guys liked The Descent, you should watch Rec. It's a Spanish horror movie. One of my favorites.

I have all 3 Recs on my hard drive waiting on me. I saw Quarantine and liked it and I assume the original is better.

Rec >>>>>>>>>>>>> Quarantine. I wish you would've watched the original first. I didn't like Rec 2 or 3, but the first one is brilliant.
