I actually stay pretty busy, I'm repairing tractors, cutting and splitting firewood (how I've gained weight splitting firewood in 100 degrees is beyond me) clearing downed trees, looking after people's cows, building furniture, grading roads and etc for people nearby, the rest of the time I apply for jobs. It's around 70-80 that I've applied for, some that I'm way over qualified for but no interviews lately. I've also applied all over the world, so I'm not limiting myself to just east mississippi.

It's been 8 months since I graduated grad school. I just got an offer at the end of July. The first 4-5 months were great doing hobbies and getting in shape and hanging out with friends. After that it started to take a a toll just like you are describing. I've hated it more than I've hated anything else since that point.

About 3-4 months. I watched a ton of Netflix, took the dog to the park every day, tried to find productive things to do in between applying for jobs.

Most lawyers are probably used to rejection from law school OCI where a good student may apply for 80 positions, interview for 20, but get 60 rejections. So it didn't wear on me too much. But just try and stay mentally sharp by doing things that require mental acumen, and make sure you're not missing opportunities and you're pursuing everything you can. All you can do, bro.

I feel you. I'm also currently unemployed and there is very little out there. It's depressing. I will cross my fingers for both of us.

The trick is, don't ever start. Then, you don't miss it and it's no big deal.

Yea it truly sucks. The worst part is people constantly asking, "What are you doing these days?" and "Have you found a job yet?"

I'm currently starting month 5 of unemployment. I've applied for a shite ton of jobs and interviewed for a few but haven't gotten any offers. Haven't had an interview since May. I'll be honest it's starting to wear on me. I'm moody, gained weight, don't sleep much and my confidence in applying for jobs has waivered.

You work in advertising, too? Anyway, I suggest doing some volunteer work: hospital, homeless shelter, community food center, sperm bank. That stuff gets you out of the house and takes your mind off shite.

This coming from a person who has spent may 50% of the last 30 years unemployed. I speak from experience here.

Yep. I'm going to snap one day and scream, "Nothing! I'm a fricking loser, okay?" Only a matter of time.

I don't really like to work, so not working does not bother me one bit. To tell you the truth, i don't really like most people either so I prefer not to work.

I haven't worked a nine-to-five type situation in seven years and have been in an unsupervised, heavily automated capacity for the past six.

I am about to make a career shift that will require me to take a somewhat traditional job for at least four years, I hope the search takes a long time.

I feel the same way, people are starting to get the message too. Not as many ask if I've found work, those that do ask my response is "would I be standing here if I was working?". Hope we both find something soon.
