Juicing fruits and veggies

Anyone do this on a consistent basis? I'm trying to add fresh juice into my diet to kick up the polynutrients a bit without eating 10000g of fiber. What are some recipes you use?

Don't do it dude. It's incredibly messy. Huge pain to clean the juicer. Big pain in the arse for negligible benefits.

I don't. I just blend them up into smoothies or eat them.
Why are you trying to avoid fiber?

Sam's has started selling a few varieties for about $5/half gallon. Maybe start with that and see how you like it

Too late. I already make a huge frickin' mess with my blender so it doesn't really bother me. I think the benefits of getting the vitamins and other nutrients out of a shite ton of veggies (and a little fruit) are worth the trouble.

Not trying to avoid fiber, just excess fiber. I still throw some of the pulp in the juice and smoothies.

Again, what's your aversion to fiber?
ETA: Never mind. You responded as I was typing. Fiber is one of the "selling points" on fruit and vegetables to me.

You can borrow my juicer which is gathering dust on the shelf.

Yes, I agree, fiber is important. That's why I add some back in to the juice. My point is that I can juice 5x the amount of veggies I could put into a smoothie and get most of the same nutrients... no?

I have done it in the past, and stopped recently. But i like to throw a bunch of different veggies in. I like lettuce, spinach, kale, celery and anything green. As long as you throw an apple in, it is actually pretty tasty.
carrot and celery juice is simple and amazing.
I wouldn't do anything with beets. They turn your teeth red.

I don't get why people say this. It' takes all of two minutes to clean my juicer.
I keep it pretty simple. For veggies I usually go with kale, carrots, tomatoes, beets, and/or and celery, though go light on celery as it can really throw off the balance imo. For fruits I go with whatever is in season. Fresh herbs are always a nice addition.

Juice if you want to and don't mind what people say about it, especially here. Juicing /Blending both have their pros and cons but either of the two added to your diet is not a bad thing.
For me, I used to juice everyday before work. I felt great and it worked for me. But now I go into work way early and stick to the smoothie in the AM. When I have the time, I juice. I never regret it
I am a creature of habit and I always had apples, spinach, carrots and ginger.

Sure. But I don't need 8 apples and 3 lbs worth of spinach in a glass of juice. That shite gets pricey!

Do you use organic fruit/vegetables? It seems like by juicing it that you're really sucking down into what that plant has in it and would want to avoid any pesticides, etc.

That would be better, certainly. Washing them thoroughly seems wise.
