I would put GM wires on it or I wouldn't change them.
For tune up I would do plugs, clean the throttle body
replace air filter
can of seafoam in the gas tank

flush coolant
service all the fluids

Diesel don't have throttle bodies. Well, I guess the driver in this case could be the throttle body and this case it needs to soak in bleach...

I have 230k miles on my 2003. Nice truck.
Mine also has the Gauge Cluster problem, but otherwise they are great trucks.

Simple green always dries shite up really bad. It reacts with aluminum negatively IIRC, so I honestly haven't used it since I remember it coming out. For throttle bodies, I use carb cleaner and a toothbrush. I guess the simple green soaks in and the carb cleaner dries up, but idk, that's just my experience.

Grease, I have a pretty heavy tune-up regiment that I do every 50k on vehicles, and am gonna go through that. Don't feel like typing it all out to be honest. Only things that most people don't do are replacing PCV valve and thermostats. Can't really think of much else out of the ordinary stuff that I could do.

It has an Air Raid CAI and the filter is brand new

The point was YOU need to soak in Simple Green...

Also, for detail cleaning of parts like that, Hoppes #9 is an extremely potent carbon/varnish cleaner. I've used it to de-carbon turbo charger compressor wheels and IAT's and the crud just melts off.

They were pretty horrible....but the newer 6.4L may be worse.

I feel sorry for the poor soul who bought it from him.

And to be fair the VT365/6.0 have shown to be very reliable (especially the VT365's in fleet service) and most of the issues are related to owners and bad technicians not fully trained on the newer engines.

Really? I've never even thought of that as strong enough. I'll give it a shot.

Why don't you see GM and Dodge guys complaining about blown up engines left and right? The problems with the Ford engines are well known by everyone that has ever even smelled a diesel engine. I could pick out a couple of things that have gone wrong for a few people with GM and Dodges, but it isn't a complete and total failure like the Ford engines, and the problems aren't consistent.

I am also starting to hear about major problems with the 6.7 as of late. My gf is driving from BR to NOLA right now, and if you wanna see another recently broken down 6.4, just make that drive

If you have a gauge cluster problem. I had one on my 05 chevy with the 6.0 gas motor. Sent the whole cluster to a guy on eBay and he replaced the motors for cheap. Just made sure I filled up my truck before I sent it off and I think I had it back within a week. Has worked fine for a few years now.

He's about to get really mad, tell you you're wrong, tell your what's wrong with GM's and Dodge's, and then call you stupid.

New truck looks good though, should be able to get another 100k out it easily. Glad you were finally able to offload the F250.

The fleet managers at my company seem to have choice worlds to describe vehicles equipped with the 6.0L and newer Powerstrokes. "Reliable" is definitely not one of them. These are not modified engines either.
