Does this mean they will bake a cake and smash it in someone's face? WTF? that would suck a bit. They almost have written themselves into a doom spot with the finale. So fricking lame having them walk into there and get trapped like sheep. A gay Daryl will kill things for sure

Any Daryl will kill things. That's pretty much what he does.

it won't bother me, but this is such a cheap trick "errr let's make a major character gay"
How about instead of cheap plot devices why don't you string together one consistent season Kirkman you fat bastard

Ugh fricking pollitical statement

Wtf. They're going to take an obviously not-gay character, tough, rough redneck badass type, and "make" him gay? frick the show at that point. That's just throwing social politics into entertainment to suit an agenda.

They already have a "gay character" in Tara, to me, there is no point in making Daryl gay too.
Kinda crazy that Glenn is the only one getting any regular action.

Eh...I mean, it would explain a whole bunch of things about the character. He was clearly the beta to Merle's alpha, despite Carol basically licking him he kept her at arms length...same with Stumpy's daughter last season. If he's straight, he's clearly the pickiest mother fricker in the zombie apocalypse because he's had ample opportunities to get Little Darryl some action and has declined.
I figured he may have been messed with as a child by his white trash dad or Merle and had some kind of hangup or else doesn't like old or young chicks.
It's not as if there's been a lot of banging around on the show overall anyway, as far as I can recall. So it's not like an orgy with Daryl sitting on the side disinterested.

I always kinda saw it, as his only fear is to get close to anyone and lose them.

Uh... so? Does it really matter? I don't think there anything to this. Kirkman is an infamous troll when it comes to his characters. Sounds like he was joking around with the interviewer because he knew people flip out. Kirkman is as serious as a bag of farts. Nothing to see here.

Kirkman didn't create Daryl.

No kidding. What freaking say does Kirkman have in Daryl being gay? That is most likely the producers call since having a strong, gay male character would be an obvious political/social statement.
ETA: I'm not saying that I'll quit watching the show if they pull that crap, but it'll definitely rub me the wrong way.

Correct he didn't create him, but it's his show and he sits in the writers room and he's still an infamous troll.

I'm not sure Daryl is gay - just doesn't seem to fit the character at all. I don't think Norman Reedus thinks of him as gay, never has in any interview. Kirkman didn't write the character anyway, for he is not in the comics. He was written by Frank Darabont, who ran the show early on before having a lot of disagreements about the show's direction.
I think Kirkman was responding to someone mentioning that Jesus (a character in the comics) is a badass kinda guy too - and HE is written as gay - but to be honest, Jesus's sexuality in the comics doesn't seem realistic or fit his traits either.
The comics, in my opinion, have gone downhill, have gotten boring - the villains are more interesting than the boring, humanistic stories they try to tell on the protagonist side. I really don't want to see any of these stories told on television.

yep take everything Kirkman says with a grain of salt.
He has been doing this even before there was a TV series
