Cheers is great. I prefer the early shows to the ones with Rebecca. Those seem to get a little stupid as time goes on or the ones I've seen are.

I agree. For the most part, I hated Rebecca. That said, they were of course moments. I loved the episode where at the end of a bunch of absurdity, Norm ended up saying:

quote:

Anyway, this is my fantasy sir. It's a little outrageous, so just stay with me. Even though I was born poor and I'll never be a rich man, somehow it wouldn't make any difference if one time, sir, just one time, just one darn time, I could do something symbolic: carry a rich man across the lawn in his pajamas.

I mean, he really sold it.

quote:

I was watching a Frasier show last night on Hallmark where Frasier, Niles and their Dad go to Boston for Cliff's going away party. Frasier's Dad tells Norm to come visit them in Seattle and that the flight is only about 6 hours. Norm says sitting in one place for 6 hours just isn't his style.

Classic.

I never watched Frasier, but that is fricking hilarious. Norm is so awesome.

The Frasier with Woody was amazing.

Frasier: "Nothing like beer and a pizza with a couple of rapscallions!
Woody: "Can we get it half pepperoni and half rapscallions?"

One of the greatest shows ever. Not only did it win an assload of awards but I don't think it was ever not in the Top 20 in the entire decade it ran. The amount of shows that have run that long and can claim that sustained level of popularity are very rare.

The wife and I went to Bah-ston earlier this year (just a quick over-nighter). The one place that was a must-see was Cheers (there are two locations, we went to the one at Faneuil Hall).

The show is still very popular and the last new episode aired May 1993. That should say something.

I'd watch this show over any other comedy on TV. Seinfeld and Frazier were both great, but Cheers had characters that you really cared about. The theme song really says it all, and the humor was truly clever

You need to fix that ASAP. One of the best casts for a TV sitcom ever. Truly great for five or six seasons.

Some of the Frasier shows are pretty damn funny. Niles is hilarious and my favorite. The father reminds me of coach in a way. Lileth shows up periodically as she and Frasier have the son. The episodes are on at night on Hallmark. They might be on during the day, as well, but late night is when I watch them from time to time. Some of them are so funny that I laugh out loud. Hit or miss on a few, though, but it was a very successful show. Well worth watching.

Never had any desire to, and it's such a commitment now (264 episodes), I'll likely never watch it. I know people that LOVED it though. Frasier was never one of my favorite parts of Cheers anyway, which is why I think I never had a desire to watch his new show when it came out.

I won't deny that it was wildly successful though. Kelsey Grammer straight up played Frasier Crane for 20 straight years on TV. Impressive.

I know exactly to which episode you are referring. That was great!

Woody: "Hey, Mr. Peterson, Jack Frost nipping at your nose?"

Norm: "Yep, now let’s get Joe Beer nipping at my liver, huh?"

I'm ignorant to Netflix but I have found that Hallmark Channel is replaying it and the series just ended and they're starting with the first episode. I've set the DVR to record all episodes.
