Dareus is one of the top DTs in the league. DeMeco is on that tier of ILBs that is good not great. Barron is a good Strong Safety. Evan Mathis is the best Guard in the league. Andre Smith is one of the best RTs.

And more are solid-good.

is there something fishy about these guys showing up at the next level a little worn down?

plenty of scouts have mentioned being concerned with Alabama players coming into the league a little beat up. With that being said, Sabans not being paid to prepare players for a great career in the pros, he's being paid to win games at Alabama.

well yeah, there is that.

I guess that could crap on their recruiting pitch sometimes about being NFL ready when you leave there though.

comes with the territory I guess.

just seemed a little fishy is all I'm saying.

hey, more power to them.

What do you know.....another overrated player coached by the midget. Why Saban has a rep for developing players for the nfl, I will never understand. His players go to the nfl and are never as good as advertised.

^^ Lots of anger and resentment from many the titles (and recruits) lost to Saban.

Ciron Black was a 4 year starter at LSU, injuries in college took a toll and he wasn't even drafted.

That's a bit of a stretch. He plays next to Kyle Williams and Mario Williams. Hes really good, but he makes a lot of plays because of them.

BAMA is a sum of great parts in a great system not necessarily nfl type individual talent

Don't tell BAMA fans that. They'll fight you tooth and nail.

But hey, numbers obviously lie.

I guess that's why Alabama has sent 7 players from its ranks to the NFL Hall of Fame

Once you get into "history" argument, that's when the conversation turns hilarious.

Well, those Alabama hall of famers have everything to do with the conversation at hand and Saban's use of players and system. Totally relevant.

Saban has gotten them ready for the NFL by putting them in a position to be drafted, and often drafted high.

That's gotta be at the top of the mind of a HS recruit when it comes to the NFL. Get drafted. Saban has done that for his players, at least at Bama.

I'd bet the recruiting pitch is centered around where they got drafted, and not how many Pro-Bowlers we've had in the past 5 years, which isnt many.

Many predicted him struggling. Hell, he got worse while at Alabama in his last season.

Yep, he was not good in pass blocking as the season wore on. Pretty good run blocker but he gets owned by a fast DE and the Sugar Bowl was a classic example. Not sure if that was/is injury related or not as he seemed to be much better in pass blocking earlier in his time at the Capstone.

Most frustrating thing to watch as the season went on. I was almost laughing at how bad he was getting handled by Oklahoma's rush.

Yeah I didn't get the Hall of Fame thing at all

I suppose it is a credit to Saban that they get the most out of their recruits while at BAMA. But the numbers don't lie about their players transition to the NFL

Blame should be placed on the media as well

What is stunning to me is how much NFL talent North Carolina football has in the NFL right now. UNC is a shite show but the individual talent from the last ten years is amazing
