Didn't read the thread so I don't know if it's been discussed, but how would it be wrong even if a private diner wanted to give Christians free meals and charge everyone else? Is there a law against discounts and free meals?

i'll ask you too....does the diner owners know if the customers are religious or not?

How? A religion is not needed to pray. So, please explain.

If you're an atheist just pray to Zeus and get your discount. Problem solved.

Under federal civil rights law, companies and businesses offering services and goods to the public - such as food, lodging, gasoline and entertainment - can't discriminate against customers based upon their race, color, religion, or national origin

True, but earlier he had said that Atheists don't have anyone to pray to. (that is pretty sad. Everyone should have friends).
I didn't realize we are allowed to pick and choose which definitions we can apply and which we can't.

Your semantics argument wouldn't hold up in a court

i'm still waiting for someone claiming discrimination to answer this question
do the diner owners know if the customers are religious or not?

Or he could just pray to his stomach to not give him acid indigestion. Problem solved again.

But what guy wants to bring that argument? They should be shot on sight.
The same that are creating a stink about this very issue.

You mean the actual definition of praying wouldn't hold up in court?
ETA: I'd agree it probably wouldn't, but that is because we have some really stupid people in this world. However, that does not change the fact that a religion is not needed to pray.

Lots of common sense stuff "doesn't hold up in court." I wouldn't bet the farm it would hold up in court, and neither would the restaurant. It's still stupid to protest.

That's how they do it at their place.
If you are invited to somebody's house, you don't start demanding shite, do you? If they aren't treating you right, you just leave. Simple.

Gays are a protected class now in some states.

can't discriminate against customers based upon their race, color, religion, or national origin

It's not that you don't want to be discriminated against. You have other issues that are probably best addressed through a licensed counselor.
