Since atheist choose to be absent of religion, how can they be discriminated against. The law is protect the religious, not the non-religious.

Good point. They aren't being discriminated against because of their religion.

you do realize businesses are held to different standards and laws than people in their own house, right?

I realize people feel like they have to sue over every slight or affront to their delicate sensibilities.

I've looked at this from several angles and try as I may I can find no discrimination in play here.

Atheists that are offended by stuff like this remind me of guys who call their ex's just to let them know that they aren't thinking about them.

I guess this means I'll have to forget about that half-price dinner at Texas de Brazil next summer. It's discriminatory against people whose birthday isn't June 18th.

I could have been born on 6/18 but chose to wait until 8/23. It was a personal choice but one I revisit often.

I wasn't aware there was such a thing as separation of church and diner?

No it doesn't. Anyone can pray regardless of religion. You can bow your head and pray for people to frick off and leave you alone. You don't need to have religion for that. Besides, I think if you tell your prayer it won't come true, so you shouldn't have to say what you were praying for.

No, that would be illegal discrimination as opposed to discrimination. One is choosing between options given certain parameters and the other is illegal.

Shame. I would really like to see this litigated as I would like to see the results.

Would like to hear more attorneys weigh in, but I just think the link to religious discrimination is too tenuous. That's assuming federal civil rights standards and not some crazy local law.

But I understand the owner not wanting to roll those dice.

Why is this a problem?

Let me guess, This group hates private property rights and economic freedom of association because of a private choice that offends them.

I assume you like freedom? Right?

Then you should understand that real and true freedom includes people doing shite you don't like and fricking hate as long they're not harming people or stealing anything.

freedom is scary.

almost as scary as the prospect of a person being a mere collocation of atoms that ceases to exist upon death.

you gotta come up with something besides a god to find meaning, so these antics are understandable.

Activist atheism is the weirdest "ism" of them all.

I get atheism.

I don't get atheist that are activist.

Could you expound on this term? I was under the impression that non-belief was the opposite of a "movement"?

That's nonsensical...who would you be praying to? Why would any atheist "pray"?
