LA highway 24 is paved...rather well actually.

I was talking about 24 roads, not LA24

Are you sure about that? I've got a buddy that lives up in Fayette county Alabama...pretty much every road around there is dirt. you listen to those country songs about people having massive bonfires in fields, driving tractors everywhere, drinking beer everywhere they go, and partying with the sheriff and you think, "where do people actually do all that shite?" There. They do it all there. It's the place where people who call themselves rednecks go to be amazed by how redneck the people are.

Highway 10 where it crosses the Morganza Spillway is unpaved. That's west of 77. But then again, its a little unclear whether that is a state highway or not. Some maps show it as such; others don't.

I travel through Fayette County quite a bit and while they've got a lot of unpaved county roads, all their state roads are paved I believe.

I think Lee county may hold the record though. They went through about 10-15 years ago and plopped a county road sign on every pig trail in the county. You can go down some of their roads and see a different county road branching off every half mile it seems and not a one if them are paved and few are even wide enough for two vehicles to get by each other.

Drive from Marksville to Lake Larto. Reddish dirt road with gravel thru the bean, cotton and milo fields.

I drive a delivery truck and I stumble upon unpaved roads on occasion, only a few are state roads.

Unpaved doesn't mean dirt. None of the roads here are dirt. They're gravel.

If anyone knows of some dirt roads, not gravel, I would love to know.

When was the last time you went? For me it was about two months ago...

It's been paved for at least a month now. They basically put a thin layer of asphalt down.

I went down it when I assume it was freshly done, and it was nice. A few weeks later...not so much.

In a year (assuming they don't repave it) you'll wish it was gravel again.

There are quite a few near camp claiborne and the kistatchie NF. Dirt. Dusty. Not very exciting.

I go out that way often and have yet to find anything that doesn't have loose gravel. I suppose I need to look a little harder.

Its been awhile since I was out that way, so maybe they graveled em up. There are also a bunch of logging roads out there. You can get maps from the kisatchie NF. Just dont go off a 'designated road' on the map or the rangers will git ya.
