State roads that are unpaved: How many of those are out there?

I know that LA 975 between I-10 and Krotz Springs is one, but how many more of these are out there?

A lot
Why? Looking for a place to chill and listen to some George Jones?
Probably not many left.

In 1928, Louisiana had roughly 300 miles of paved roads, only 60 miles of which were maintained by the state.
Probably not many left.

There's really still unpaved state roads in Louisiana? I know of a few (very few) country roads in Alabama that are unpaved but a state road? I travel all over this state and can't recall ever encountering an unpaved state road.

If there are any dirt state roads here in Alabama I'm guessing they'd have to be in some of the very poor & rural areas of some of the southern counties like Marengo or Wilcox... down in that area. I'm almost 100% positive there are no unpaved state roads in Alabama north of Birmingham though.

Unpaved doesn't mean dirt. None of the roads here are dirt. They're gravel.

Loose gravel? I don't know of any state roads like that either.

I know of a couple on the drive from here to my grandparents down in Choctaw county. At least they were gravel the last time I went through and noticed. I have family all over Choctaw and Clarke County. They just don't have the money to pave certain areas.

Well I don't personally know about the 24 here, but they exist. Chances are Bama has some.

If they do I've not run across any of them in my 40+ years. Not all are in great shape, but if it's a state road in Alabama, at least as far as what I've seen, it's at least paved.
