Normally unexpectedly. Looking at different guns and suddenly one jumps out from the others and you decide it has to go in the collection. To the point that you will pay whatever it takes to own it.

Anyone else experience this or am I just being a crazy barner?

Yep. The Marlin Camp 9. Been looking for one locally. They quit making them in 2006. I'll have one some day.

Some of the old side-by-side shotguns do this for me. D grade, small grade Foxes, graded Lefever shotguns among others. Their design and engraving just pulls me in...

I pretty much look at guns all night. I'd have to make triple to buy everyone I decide I'm definitely going to buy.

Something about the Henry Big Boy and the Ruger GP100 Match Champion. They are calling my name.

Yes, and since I will always be on a budget, I wait for three months to talk myself out of it.

I research it and find that it is just another gun that is so similar to the others in its class. Then I decide that the mortgage needs to be paid off and gas needs to be bought.

The four guns I have are enough and the money saved is well-saved.

Stave off the craving you will have staved off buyer's remorse three months later.

It's the same principle that I apply to my wife's clothes purchasing....."Hon, how much do you really need that?"

Yup. Happened when I saw the double stacked 1911 in the store that one time.

Happened when I saw the old 870 Wingmaster in the pawn shop.

Happened when I saw the 1941 M1 Garand at the gun show.

Happened when I saw the online add for the 1903 Springfield.

It happens to me a lot.

i had the envie for a 10/22 in 22 Mag. Then i read they had non stop cycling probs til Ruger quit making them. So i got over it.

Plus, I still want a Browning A5, old style.
