They do need to crack down on 18 wheelers hauling arse through town though. Restrict them to 50 MPH and a designated lane within city limits as well as a single lane on the MRB. It's not rocket science.

The entirety of the blame cannot be placed on 18-wheelers alone. The frickhead civilians in BR cut them off and in general make their life hell. Anyone who has ever pulled even a small trailer in this city knows how hard it is to drive with these retards.

the time of cleanup is pretty bad in br/ the surrounding area. I understand taking a while when a 18 wheeler and dump truck decide to collide because they are large but something has to be done to pick up the pace on clean up of the wrecks.

Car wrecks and fuel spills never happen in Toronto?

shite happens everywhere. BR is the same as any city of its size or larger. Traffic jams and car wrecks are a fact of life.

When there's any sort of spill like this, there ain't much you can do to really speed it up.

fricking this, I've driven trucks all over this country and BR is right up there with DC for worst drivers in the nation when it comes to careless operation around a rig. People cut off trucks all the time just to be closer to a red light or "beat" them to an exit. Just look at the bullshite that goes on at the foot of the MRB or at the 10/12 split. People in this town are literally playing with peoples lives just to save a couple of seconds off the commute. It's stupid.

The single lane entrance to i10 from the MRB is what's stupid.

It sure made getting downtown on I-10 a breeze.

I got a twitter account solely to follow the DOTD feed. They update quickly and it has saved me a lot of headache.

The amount of interstate closures in and around Baton Rouge is truly astounding.

Typical Baton Rouge logic. "All the trucks that make it through other cities just fine must be the problem when they wreck here."

No, the problem is the stupid fricks in this city that can't drive. You pair that with the stupid fricks that designed the roads in this city and you get the perfect storm of stupid frickery that the truckers have to drive through.

If you don't believe that people who learned to drive in Baton Rouge are fricking stupid, I present their utter inability to correctly navigate College turning onto Corporate as a rebuttal.

Getting a license should be way harder and driving should be WAY more lethal.
