there was a guy who used to post on here who probably takes the cake. his arguments would always devolve into how great he was at soccer and how his team got to state or something in the 90s, so he was right

That guy was my high school coach freshmen year.

I really didn't like playing against this guy, he was one of the quickest players I've ever played against. In an even 5-10 yard stretch he won every 50-50.

This guy's dribbling was nuts, at NOSA he used to embarrass everyone. It's a shame he wasn't completely committed to the sport.

And the face that he basically wouldn't fly so he missed out on all kind of youth national team training and tournaments. In his prime he was physically one of the best players I have ever seen.

He was a great athlete. He decided to play football at Newman one year and was All-District at running back.

Played with Kreis and have seen the others. Kreis is the strongest of them all.

well id say you start your rankings with # of times a player has been in "backyard soccer MLS edition."

kreis has 1. anyone else?

Mullins hands down. Played against him for 10+ years when he played for Lafreneire Red team and Jesuit. If you use the shoulder to shoulder rule against him he throws a pissy fit, but the dude has a killer left foot.

Jason Kreis is the answer.

There was some good talent back in my playing days. Some guys did well in college but not much after that. I remember Stephen Pate from St Pauls played an EPL's C team if i remember correctly.

Other really good players that could have done more: Randy Fortenberry (Mandeville), PJ Kee (Jesuit), Nick Lambert (BM). Jeremy Judice (Covington) - Not saying these guys are National Team player. Just saying they could have gone further with their soccer careers

I also agree about Dwayne Johnson. Dude was good.

Dwayne Jones
-3x All-American
-Gatorade Player of the Year
I know that much bc I couldn't believe he made all American as a sophomore. Also played with Ajax in holland. Plus I think he was all district in football, track, and baseball. I'm pretty sure injuries derailed him

Judice has played some pro, hasn't he? That name is quite familiar.

Jason Kreis and I.M.O. it's hardly a discussion. He led Dallas Burn for years, and was a feared MLS striker. He's the same type coach he was as a professional footballer, fiery, tough with a huge desire to win.

Probably because there are a few of them, and they all played soccer

Didn't one of them play for the old Riverboat Gamblers/Storm that played out at Zephyr in the late 1990s? I used to go to those matches and sit on the levee.
