Well, can't argue that ones not at a crossfit-affiliated location.

But if any of my trainers saw someone attempting that they would smack the shite out of them for being stupid.

That being said, that's actually fairly impressive.

This thread is awesome. As a crossfitter, I can't even argue or take up for myself. We are an awful lot

I don't mind the criticism of us crossfitters being an arrogant elitist "know-it-all" lot but this is simply ignorantly wrong

professionals (those who do the games) are tested like any other sanctioned professional athletics. of course, there are ways to get around it just like every other sanctioned professional athletics.

let's see what else is wrong with this thread

Is someone combining them haphazardly? Why is a time component bad?

Because you are doing olympic lifts where proper form is important to prevent injury. You turn olympic lifts into a race and form suffers.

Most of the time, the lifts are not that heavy.

The heaviest time-component workout I've done in 2 months was 15-10-5 265lb deadlifts with a 400M run after each DL set.

What is heavy, I have never seen a workout that uses heavy weights as a component. And if any oly lift is used a a component it is usually a couplet, or possibly a chipper.

Gyms to have lifting skills but they are done separate of the workout, and usually are a 5 or 3 RM. And they are generally the more simple lifts, such as a clean or push press, versus a snatch or a jerk.

Usually don't see a lot of snatches until a gym has an established clientele that as progressed, new members that are new to lifing dont do them as a rule. They will do a scaled movement.
