Meh, it's more of a question of time management

I mean we have a lot of crap going on, and the dude is playing golf and doing fundraising gigs (despite not being able to run for office again).

This. The guy doesn't need to leave DC to be on vacation.

Hell, his workday doesn't even start till 10 AM, and even then he's either off to a fund-raiser or playing golf at least two days a week.

His family vacations I don't mind. It's Michelle's extravagant trips that get under my skin.

Very misleading graphic. By all accounts, W spent nearly all his "vacations" at his Crawford ranch or the family compound in Kennebunkport, both of which were fully functioning as command centers. Even most of the articles detracting W's vacations mention this.

Obama is all over the place, but mostly Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii which don't seem to have any notable work function from everything I've seem in it.

The term 'vacation' has obviously been manipulated by the OP. However, 'rounds of golf' is absolutely objective. It cannot be manipulated. Bush was skewered by the left for playing to much golf. Obama has played considerably more rounds than Bush.

You don't think with today's technology he's capable of handling a wide variety of duties while on vacation?

I think this is one of the silliest criticisms of Obama.

It is a natural reaction regardless if the job is POTUS or a shelf stocker at COSTCO, when the actual work you are paying a person to do is not getting done, their time off starts being an issue, when they are consistently hitting it out of the park nobody cares about how much time they take off.

Every time Obama goes on vacation we hear about the cost of renting a place for the secret service on Martha's vineyard.

Did the Secret Service details stay in sleeping bags in Crawford?

It is stupid to complain about presidential vacation days regardless of who is in office. They're always working.

Considering the fact a POTUS is never really "on vacation", but rather simply changing venues, I haven't a clue as to WTF the vacation bitching is about, other than pure politics.

The guy has taken a lot less vacation than I have over the same span. Of all things to complain about, POTUS "vacation" ain't one.

Bush going to his ranch(that still had an office there so he could do presidential work) counts as vacation

Everywhere the President goes he is able to work. Air Force One even has an office in it.

So if you're going to count GW's days in Crawford as work you're going to have to count all vacations by all Presidents.

But of course that would make no sense as righties only consider the actual time that a Congressman or Senator spends in session as "work" - it would be ridiculous to not consistently apply the standard across branches.

No, but I'm sure they stayed on the property free of charge.

During the beginning if the wars, Bush was playing a good bit if golf. Someone on his staff apparently told him to knock that shite off while our boys were dying.

Obama has been a wartime president for 6 years now. He plays more golf than anyone I know.

EDIT:
I'm not hopping on the bush bandwagon. He sucks too.

I don't think the source of the amount of days, but the frequency of extravagant vacations.

"The American people need to cut out luxauries to pay for the health insurance I mandated they have."

*goes on extravagant 100+ million 2-3 week holiday of Europe with the family for the second time in the past year*

i doubt the ranch in crawford could house as many people as secret service employs.

i don't get the hate for the vacation. I want the president to be fresh.
