It took 20 years to finish 610 and 40 years to complete Beltway 8.... Good luck BR...

The state just needs to abandon hope for Baton Rouge and build Lafayette a loop

The comment in the story from the plant manager claiming that they've lost employees because of commute times is as much an indictment on the availability of good, desirable housing and public schools on the west side as it is traffic on the east side.

I'm sure the study will claim that the expressway is needed, but it will likely never happen.

You mad they gonna take your cow pasture for a loop?

I drvie through BR once a month on average, I could give a rats arse. I just enjoy how angry LP and AP residents get at the idea of BR making a loop that runs near them.

not if they pay me FMV for it.
Look, the idea of a loop in this area is just foolish. It won't happen at this point. Too expensive, too controversial. Build another bridge and a bypass to it and be done with it.

definitely this. If only because there is still time to do it. I'd hate to see them make the same mistake in Laffy they did in BR.

Sadly, Kingbob is correct.
not really.

the last "study" was not to prove if traffic was bad enough to warrant a loop. it was to start figuring out alignments where the actual roads could go, bridge crossings, cost estimates and ways it could actually be built. when people starting seeing the real world product...that yes, if really want a loop, it may need to go here...that's when the nimby's come out.

I disagree. Truckers who regularly make the gulf coast 10/12 haul would love to bypass the BR abortion im sure,

which is why Kingbob is correct. The bridge/bypass/expressway is more likely to happen IMO, just because there are less NIMBYs to deal with than if we try to do a loop. But I still think this study is bogus.

I thought Houston had three loops?
610, toll and a state highway.

There's four or five bridges between ST. Francisville and NOLA.

Why do we need to build another? Just build a by pass to Sunshine or Veterans bridge and tell the locals tough titty.

Houston is over 2M in population.

They may as well start the 4th loop.
